The benefits of being a member country of the WTO is limited for developing countries like India, because :
(i) Major volume of international trade occurs between the developed countries. Thus, the benefit to developing nations is limited.
(ii) The developing economies are forced to open up their markets for the developed countries but are not allowed access to the markets of the developed countries.

1. In a reaction, 5.3g of sodium carbonate reacted with 6 g of acetic acid. The products were 2.2 g of carbon dioxide, 0.9 g water and 8.2 g of sodium acetate. Show that these observations are in agreement with the law of conservation of mass.

Sodium carbonate + acetic acid → Sodium acetate + carbon dioxide +  water

Solution:

Sodium carbonate + acetic acid → Sodium acetate + carbon dioxide +  water

5.3g                             6g                 8.2g     2.2g      0.9g

As per the law of conservation of mass, the total mass of reactants must be equal to the total mass of

products

As per the above reaction, LHS = RHS    i.e., 5.3g + 6g = 2.2g + 0.9 g + 8.2 g = 11.3 g

Hence the observations are in agreement with the law of conservation of mass.

Given: A ∆ XYZ in which ∠XYZ = 90°. To prove: XZ2 = XY2 + YZ2 Construction: Draw YO ⊥ XZ Proof: In ∆XOY and ∆XYZ, we have, ∠X = ∠X                             → common ∠XOY = ∠XYZ                     →  each equal to 90°   Therefore, ∆ XOY ~ ∆ XYZ   → by AA-similarity ⇒ XO/XY = XY/XZ                  ⇒ XO × XZ = XY2 ----------------- (i) In ∆YOZ and ∆XYZ, we have,   ∠Z = ∠Z                                     →            common ∠YOZ = ∠XYZ                             →            each equal to 90° Therefore, ∆ YOZ ~ ∆ XYZ           →            by AA-similarity ⇒ OZ/YZ = YZ/XZ                    ⇒ OZ × XZ = YZ2 ----------------- (ii) From (i) and (ii) we get, XO × XZ + OZ × XZ = (XY2 + YZ2) ⇒ (XO + OZ) × XZ = (XY2 + YZ2) ⇒ XZ × XZ = (XY2 + YZ2) ⇒ XZ 2 = (XY2 + YZ2)

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 1 month ago (2577571)

Given: A ∆ XYZ in which ∠XYZ = 90°.

To prove: XZ2 = XY2 + YZ2

Construction: Draw YO ⊥ XZ

Proof: In ∆XOY and ∆XYZ, we have,

∠X = ∠X                             → common

∠XOY = ∠XYZ                     →  each equal to 90°

Therefore, ∆ XOY ~ ∆ XYZ   → by AA-similarity

⇒ XO/XY = XY/XZ

⇒ XO × XZ = XY2 ----------------- (i)

In ∆YOZ and ∆XYZ, we have,

∠Z = ∠Z                                     →            common

∠YOZ = ∠XYZ                             →            each equal to 90°

Therefore, ∆ YOZ ~ ∆ XYZ           →            by AA-similarity

⇒ OZ/YZ = YZ/XZ

⇒ OZ × XZ = YZ2 ----------------- (ii)

From (i) and (ii) we get,

XO × XZ + OZ × XZ = (XY2 + YZ2)

⇒ (XO + OZ) × XZ = (XY2 + YZ2)

⇒ XZ × XZ = (XY2 + YZ2)

⇒ XZ 2 = (XY2 + YZ2)

On 4th January, the mental condition of the voyagers was vacillating between hope and despair. After 36 hours of continuous pumping, water had receded but they still had to keep pace with the water still coming in. The captain's wife provided them with the first meal in two days of some corned beef and cracker biscuits. However, this respite was only short-lived. The storm started building up and the situation again became worse. On 5th January, the situation was desperate. When the captain went to his children to comfort them, the small boy asked him innocently if they all were going to die but added that he did not mind dying as long as all were the family members were together. This strengthened the captain's determination to fight all odds and survive.

A three digit number is to be formed from given 9 digits 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9.
□□□HTO

⇒Now, there are 9 ways to fill Ones place.

⇒Since repetition is not allowed, so Tens place can be filled by the remaining 8 digits.
So, tens place can be filled in 8 ways.

⇒Similarly, to fill Hundreds of places, we have 7 digits remaining.
So, hundreds can be filled by 7 ways.

⇒So, the required number of ways in which three-digit numbers can be formed from the given digits is 9×8×7=504
