let AB and CD be two lines intersecting at O .  They lead to two pairs of vertically opposite angles, namely,

(i) ∠ AOC and ∠ BOD (ii) ∠ AOD and ∠ BOC.

We need to prove that ∠ AOC = ∠ BOD and ∠ AOD = ∠ BOC.

Now, ray OA stands on line CD.

Therefore, ∠ AOC + ∠ AOD = 180°  (Linear pair axiom) ………..(1)

We can write ∠ AOD + ∠ BOD = 180°  (Linear pair axiom)……………(2)

From (1) and (2), we can write

∠ AOC + ∠ AOD = ∠ AOD + ∠ BOD

This implies that ∠ AOC = ∠ BOD

Therefore it is proved lines intersect each other then the vertically opposite angles are equal.

Hilter rose to power. He was born in 1889 in Austria and spent his youth in poverty. In the First World War, he enrolled for the army, acted as a messenger in the front, became a corporal, and earned medals for bravery. Hitler joined a small group called the German Workers’ Party in 1919. He took over the organisation and renamed it the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, which later came to be known as the Nazi Party. In 1923, he planned to seize control of Bavaria, march to Berlin and capture power. During the Great Depression, Nazism became a mass movement. After 1929, banks collapsed, businesses shut down, workers lost their jobs and the middle classes were threatened with destitution. In such a situation, Nazi propaganda stirred hopes of a better future. Hitler was a powerful speaker and his words moved people. In his speech, he promised to build a strong nation, undo the injustice of the Versailles Treaty and restore the dignity of the German people. He also promised employment for those looking for work and a secure future for the youth. He promised to weed out all foreign influences and resist all foreign ‘conspiracies’ against Germany. Hitler started following a new style of politics and his followers held big rallies and public meetings to demonstrate support. According to the Nazi propaganda, Hitler was called a messiah, a saviour, as someone who had arrived to deliver people from their distress.

Margo Minco has very aptly and logically titled this short story ‘The Address’. The narrator and her mother were victims of the war. The upheaval forced them to be wanderers. They had no permanent address worth the name. All the ‘nice things’ were at No. 46, Marconi Street. They aroused nostalgic feelings of former times. But their true owner was no more in the world. The narrator resolved to forget them and also the address where they lay.

Because all things of her mother was there and she's mother told that "46 markoni street remember this address" where miss dorling lives they return our things after war .

Dividend: The number or value or amount that we divide is known as a dividend. For example, if we have to distribute 10 toffies among 5 children, then we need to divide the 10 toffies by 5, which will result in 2 toffies for each child. Hence, the value 10 is the dividend here.

Peroxide effect or kharasch effect or anti-markovnikoff rule is applicable when HBr reacts with unsaturated hydrocarbon in the presence of peroxide. In this reaction, the Br atom gets attached to that doubly bonded carbon atom which has more number of hydrogen atoms attached to it while H atom if HBr gets attached to the other carbon atom which has less number of hydrogen atoms.

E.g:- CH3-CH=CH2 + HBr(peroxide) → CH3-CH2-CH2-Br

It is an example of free radical addition reaction.

In 18th century the competition of textile rose and many countries started inventing machine which can do work by just pressing a button. The Indians denied the use of machine and made textile by their hands, this led to collapse of Indian textile industry in 18th century

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 2 months ago (2577571)

Following factors led to the decline of the textile industry during the British rule in India-
1. Low price of machine - made textiles
2. Expansion of railways
3. Imported textiles could reach the villages
4. Traditional weavers lost their village markets.
5. Due to high export tax, textiles exported to Britain lost its market
