In the 19th century, industrialization brought about significant social and economic changes, leading to widespread poverty in Europe. The migration of rural populations to urban areas for factory jobs often resulted in overcrowded and unsanitary living conditions, contributing to poverty. Also, the Irish Potato Famine (1845-1852) serves as another instance. The failure of the potato crop, a staple food, led to mass starvation and poverty in Ireland, highlighting the vulnerability of certain regions to agricultural challenges.
