When you add water to acid it is very explosive it is a exothermic reaction , it can also catch fire..

Haya Sikander 4 years, 1 month ago

We should always add acid to water with constant stirring instead of adding water to acid. The reason is that if we add water to acid the reaction that'll take place will be highly exothermic and hence can cause severe injury.

Priyanshi Attrish 4 years, 2 months ago

If we add water in acid it's brust out even when we add water in acid we have to shake that tube in which the acid is present because when water is added to acid drop by drop it's so high boiling point so it produces a lot of heat and there's a chances to expose but if u add acid in water so acid is so harmful and its expose in air that's why we never add water in acid

Anushka Tyagi 4 years, 2 months ago

When you mix acid with water, it's extremely important to add the acid to the water rather than the other way around. This is because acid and water react in a vigorous exothermic reaction, releasing heat, sometimes boiling the liquid. ... When you add water to acid, the water boils and the acid may splatter and splash!
