Respected Sir,
Sub: Violence against the aged living alone at home.
I wish to draw your attention towards the security of the aged people living alone at home in Dindigul. Almost every day we find the newspapers full of such incidents. The miscreants rob the people and then murder them. Many times the servants of the house are found involved in these incidents. The aged are the gullible people and are easily made target.
I hope after publishing this letter in your esteemed newspaper, the police will take some necessaiy actions for their safety. Thanking you
Yours faithfully,
Vinitha

Most desert soils are called Aridisols (dry soil). These are porous sandy soils with low nitrogenous matter and humus. These are saline in nature too.
Deserts cover 20 to 33% of the Earth’s land surface, and can be found in the tropics, at the poles, and in between. Desert soils are formed where there is scanty rainfall.

Nayakas were military chiefs usually mentioned law and order in their areas of control. They maintained forests and kept armed supporters. They use to control and expand fertile land and agricultural settlements. They usually submitted to kings (to the authority of Vijayanagara).
The amara-nayaka system was a major political innovation of the Vijayanagara Empire. It is likely that many features of this system were derived from the Iqta system of the Delhi Sultanate. The amara-nayakas were military commanders who were given territories to govern by the raya

Growth is defined as increase in the size and mass. It is not a defining property of life because even non living organism grows and increases in size and mass. For example, mountains can increase in height by accumulation of snow.

- Animals grow for a limited period of time after which their growth ceases and they ultimately die.
- Plant growth is unique because plants retain their capacity for unlimited growth throughout their life.
- This ability of plants is due to the presence of meristematic tissue at certain locations in their body.
- The cells of such meristems have the capacity to divide and self-perpetuate.

Reproduction is the ability to produce younger ones. It cannot be considered as a defining property of the living organism because in unicellular organism the increase in number of cells is considered as growth as well reproduction. Mule is a cross of female horse and a male donkey cannot produce fertile offspring though they are living.

Valency
It is the ability of an atom to gain or lose electron in order to achieve the noble gas configuration. It refers to the ability of an element to combine with other element. It is obtained by determining the number of electrons in the outermost shell (also called valence shell) of each atom of an element. For instance, sodium has 1 electron in its outermost shell and hence valency of sodium is 1.
Atomic number of sodium is 11. So the electronic configuration stands out to be 2,8,1 i.e. there is one electron in the outermost shell. In order to gain inert gas configuration it is better for sodium to lose one electron and achieve the nearest noble gas configuration of neon with atomic number 10.
On the other hand atomic number of chlorine is 17. So electronic configuration stands out to be 2,8,7. In order to achieve noble gas configuration to become stable it requires one electron then it will acquire the configuration of neon (noble gas). Therefore valency of chlorine is1.
