The teaching and learning of Geography has been a matter of debate amongst geographers. Some examples are:
- Whether geographical phenomena be theoretically interpreted or through historic-institutional approach;
- Whether subject matter be organised and approach to study and teach geography should be regional or systematic;
- Whether geography as a discipline should be a law making/theorising or descriptive?

HTML ELEMENTS or TAGS
HTML is written in the form of tags. A tag refers to a string enclosed within angular brackets (< and >). HTML elements represent semantics or meaning.
- HTML tags are predefined and are not case-sensitive.
- All HTML tags are typed inside the angular brackets (< and >) and the text between these brackets are called elements.
- The opening tags are written within the less than (<) and greater than (>) signs,
e.g. <HTML> - The closing tags are written within the < and > signs with a forward slash (/) appended before the name of the tag.
e.g. </HTML> - The attributes are always specified in the opening tags, which provides additional information about that tag. It comes in name/value pairs like name = “value”,
e.g. <FONT size =“5”>

Bholi’s teacher played a very important role in changing her life. She was the first one to have spoken to her affectionately. She encouraged her to speak out her name without any fear. She gave her a book, thereby aiming to inculcate in her the desire to learn. She told her that in time, she would be more learned than anyone else in the village, and no one would ever be able to laugh at her. People would listen to her and respect her. This filled Bholi with a new hope.

We participate in the market both as producers and consumers.
(i) As producers of goods and services we could be working in any of the sectors such as agriculture, industry, or services.
(ii) Consumers participate in the market when they purchase goods and services that they need.
(iii) For example, moneylenders usually adopt various tricks to bind the borrower.They could make the producer sell the produce to them at a low rate in return for a timely loan. They could force small farmers to sell their land to pay
back the loan.

(1) Trace the route of the parade in Map 3 and mark India Gate and Rajpath. (2) Look at the map carefully and find out: (a) Which of these is the longest road? • B.S. Zafar Marg • Subhash Marg • Tilak Marg (b) If Rubia is coming from Jama Masjid to join the parade, guess about how far she will have to walk. (c) The total route of the parade is about how long? • 3 km • 16 km • 25 km • 8 km
Answer:
(1) The route of the parade has been traced below. The Rajpath and India Gate has been marked on the map.
(2) (a) Subhash Marg is the longest road among them.
(b) We know that the route of the parade through Subhash Marg and the Jama Masjid is 1 cm away from the Subhash Marg on the map.
Here the scale is 2 cm = 1 km so, 1 cm = 0.5 km
We know that, 1 km = 1000 m so, 0.5 km = 500 m
Thus, Rubia will have to walk about 500 m to join the parade.
(c) Total distance of parade in the map is 16 cm. And we know that , 2 cm on map = 1 km Thus, 16 cm = 8 km
So, the total route of the parade will be about 8 km.

Most of the time, it can. Biomechanical principles can be used to modify the technique for better performances, and reduce injury. The difficulty is always to make sure that the flair of the cricketer is retained; biomechanics is not used to create robotic movements, but just to enhance the performance.

The Quit India Movement was Mahatma Gandhi’s third major movement against British rule. It was launched in 8th August 1942 by Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi at the All India Congress Session in Bombay. There is evidence that this movement was a mass movement.
I. It was the biggest civil disobedience movement for Independence.
II. After the arrest of all the major leaders in this movement, there were violent protests staged by people across India
III. While Mahatma Gandhi was jailed immediately after the launch of the movement, this did not stop the movement in any way. Younger activists launched a variety of strikes and acts of sabotage all across the country.
IV. Within the underground resistance, political leaders such as Jayaprakash Narayan, who was a socialist member of the Congress, were also very active.
V. In districts such as Satara and Medinipur, claims were made for “independent” governments. For example, in Satara in 1943, some of the younger leaders set up their own parallel government.

The main reason for the decline of India’s renowned handicraft industry was the introduction of “Discriminatory Tariff Policy” by the colonial government. This policy allowed-
1) Free export of raw materials from India or at cheap rates which were to be used in the upcoming modern industries in Britain.
Import of British goods in India at very low prices and heavy duty was imposed on export of Indian handicrafts.
2)As a result, Indian markets were full of finished goods from Britain which were of low and affordable prices. It led to the decline of Indian handicrafts both at the infernational and domestic market. This two-fold policy was ensured to ensure the maximum advantage of their home country.
