Class 9 English B CCE Syllabus 2010-2011 for Term 1 and Term 2

CCE Syllabus for class 9 English Language and Literature (Course B) for session 2010-2011 prescribed for First Term (April 2010 to September 2010) and Second Term (October 2010 to March 2011) issued by CBSE, New Delhi. The complete syllabus is divided into four sections i.e. Reading, Writing, Grammar and Literature. Reading, writing and grammar section has equal weightage of 15 marks whereas literature section carries 35 marks.

Class 9 Hindi B CCE Syllabus 2010-2011 for Term 1 and Term 2

CCE Syllabus for class 9 Hindi Course B for session 2010-2011 prescribed for First Term (April 2010 to September 2010) and Second Term (October 2010 to March 2011) issued by CBSE, New Delhi. Class-IX March 2010 Examination under Summative Assessment-II

The first examination under CCE scheme will be conducted for class 9 second term in March 2010. It covers 40% weightage as part of summative assessment in second term. Total weightage of 2nd term assessment is 60% of total syllabus. Two formative assessments of 10% each have been conducted in the school in form of projects and assignments.

Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) in CBSE class 9 and 10

The Board has extended the concept of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) in class IX with effect from October 2009 to be continued in class X for the year 2010-11 onwards.

For this purpose syllabus has been split up over two terms. Each term will have two formative tests of 10% weightage each and one summative test of weightage 20% and 40 % respectively.

Important Information Regarding 2010 Examinations

CBSE has introduced two new courses in class 12 this year. Class XII Student will appear for the first time in Graphics Design Course (Code NO – 71) and Heritage Crafts (Code no 70). Sample Question papers in both the subjects have been posted on the Board’s website www.cbse.nic.in.

The scheme of making CBSE Board exam optional in class 10 is not applicable in March 2010 examinations. All students of Class X in the current academic year (2009-2010) will be taking the CBSE Board’s Class X 2010 Examination.

CCE Class 9 Exam Dates 2010

The Summative assessment will be in the form of a pen-paper test conducted by the schools themselves. In order to ensure standardization and to ensure uniformity, the Question Paper Banks in different subjects are being sent by the Board to schools in February 2010. In order to cater to the difference in the pace  at which students respond to questions,  schools will give flexible timing to students for attempting the question papers. This may vary from 3 to 3½ hours.

CBSE 2010 Exams : CCE in Class IX and Grades in Class 10

Students of class X taking board exams in March 2010 will not get to know their percentage. Their ‘marksheet’ will only bear grades from now on and not marks.

As per a presentation on Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) made at conference on schools at IIT Delhi on Monday, the CBSE will switch to the grading system for class X from this session itself.

Common maths and science syllabus for all Boards

All national and regional Boards across the country is set to have a common mathematics and science syllabus for Class IX to XII from the 2011-2012 academic session.

CBSE Syllabus and Examination Structure for Summative Assessment and Formative Assessment of Class IX has been released by Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE New Delhi. It is for second term examination (October 2009 to March 2010) and exam will be conducted in the school in March 2010.
