Total Marks allotted to section D literature are 30 marks. Question number 12 and 13 carries four plus four total eight marks the curriculum document to 2010. It should be corrected to three plus three total six marks. Question number 14 carries five marks. It should be corrected to four marks. Question number 15 has no marks but it should be corrected to four marks. All other questions given there are correct.

Change of Syllabus in German Language
Certain changes in the syllabus for German language in classes IX to XII have been made with a view to remain updated with the recent trends in the political and geographical scenario of the country. These changes are effective from 2008-2009 for classes IX and XI and from 2009-10 for classes X and XII. You may refer to the Secondary and Senior School Curriculum Document Volume II- 2010 in which these changes are incorporated.
Change of Syllabus in Tibetan Language
In the process of updating the syllabi for its curriculum document 2010 Vol. II the Board has revised the Tibetan language syllabus for IX, X & XI, XII.
It has also been decided to implement the new syllabus for Classes X & XII from the academic session 2008-09 itself for those students who are appearing in the Board examination AISSE & AISSCE in 2009. (Classes X & XII Syllabus enclosed). It may be noted that certain changes have also been made in the text books prescribed for this purpose.
Introduction of Japanese Language in classes IX & X
As you may be aware the Board has introduced Japanese Language as one of the optional foreign languages in the schools affiliated to CBSE from classes VI to VIII in the years 2006-07,2007-08, 2008-09 respectively. The textbooks along with the workbooks prepared by the Japan Foundation in consultation with the Board were made available to schools which introduced the language in these classes.
It has now been decided to introduce the language for class IX in the academic year 2009-10 and the Board Examination for class X would be held in the year 2011. The syllabus prepared for class IX & X are enclosed.
Modifications in Nepali Language Syllabus
Change of Syllabus in Nepali Language for classes IX, X (Code – 024) and for Classes XI & XII (Code-124) from academic session 2008-09
In consonance with the changes made in the Nepali language syllabus for IX, X & XI & XII by the Directorate of Education, Govt. of Sikkim, CBSE also has revised its syllabus for these classes which has been incorporated in its Curriculum for 2010 – Volume II.
Further, it is informed that in respect of Classes X & XII for academic session 2008-09 & appearing for AISSE & AISSCE 2009 Exams, the New Syllabus will be applicable. (Classes X & XII Syllabus enclosed).
Grading system in CBSE from next session
Central Board of Secondary Education is going to introduce grading system for all classes from next session that is year 2009-2010. This announcement was made by Sh. Vineet Joshi, secretary of the CBSE during National Sahodaya conference of principals, held recently at Bhopal.
The students who will pass their class 10 board examination in March 2010 will be awarded grades at the place of Marks. It will be implemented in classes 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 also.
