Phenolphthalein is often used as an indicator in acid-base titrations. It is slightly soluble soluble in water. It turns acidic in acidic solution and turns pink in basic solution. Since soap solution is basic, so phenophthalein turns pink in pink solution.

The role of women in nationalist struggles: The issue of extending political rights to women was a controversial one within the liberal movement, in which large numbers of women had participated actively over the years. Women had formed their own political associations, founded newspapers and taken part in political meetings and demonstrations. Despite this, they were denied suffrage during the election of the Assembly. When the Frankfurt Parliament convened in the Church of St. Paul, women were admitted only as observers to stand in the visitors’ gallery.

There are the following different types of plant breeding:
Backcrossing
In this, a plant with desired traits is crossed with a plant that does not have the desired traits but has several other traits.
Inbreeding
In this, self-fertilization occurs. The progeny produced is the same generation after generation. This helps to preserve the original traits.
Hybrid Breeding
In this, two different breeds are crossed to produce the offspring that is more productive than the parents.
Mutation Breeding
The mutations in plant genes result in new varieties. Mutations can also be induced in plants by exposing them to chemicals and radiation.

1830 to 1848 is rightly referred to as the age of revolution because it was during this period that the world witnessed the rise of liberal nationalism that stood in opposition to conservative regimes across Europe.
Liberal nationalism is an idea where the Government is based on the free will of the people. This was first demand in France and is known as the French Revolution. During this time, in France, the liberal revolutionaries fought to overthrow the conservative regime to establish constitutional monarchy and then the Republic. This led to the revolution spreading to other countries of Europe too. Greece for example was one such country where the nationalist movement culminated in the Independence of Greece. That is why the period is rightly called the Age of Revolution.

Examples of Colloids
1) Blood:
A respiration pigment which has albumin protein in water. Pigment part contains albumin that acts as the dispersed phase and the dispersion medium is water. It is a hydrosol.
2) Cloud:
It contains air which is the dispersion medium and droplets of water as a dispersed phase. These are aerosol.
3) Gold sol:
It is a metallic sol in which gold particles are dispersed in the water.

Character of Franz
Franz was a very young boy living in Alsace district of France. He had a layman's attitude to studies. At the beginning we find him feeling tempted to skive his school. However, we also come to know his inner strength of character when he overcomes that temptation.
We come to know his patriotism and love for his teacher after he comes to know about the sad news of the new order according to which teaching of French had to be replaced with German. He is shocked to know that that was M. Hamel's last lesson.
We see him getting remorseful for having ignored learning French. He wants to learn all the French in just one period. He is very sad at the departure of his teacher.

In mathematical computation, commutative property or commutative law explains that order of terms doesn’t matters while performing an operation. This property is applicable only for addition and multiplication process, such that a + b = b + a and a × b = b × a. But it is not applicable to subtraction and division method, because, a – b ≠ b – a and a/b ≠ b/a.
Suppose two numbers A and B on addition gives a sum C, then if we interchange the position of A and B, the result will be C only, such as; A + B = B + A = C. For example, 4 + 3 = 7 = 3 + 4; here, whether 3 come before or after the plus sign, the sum of 4 and 3 will always be 7, i.e. irrespective of their order.

Fabrics are made from fibres in the following two steps.
1. Fibres are first converted into yarn by the process of spinning.
In the process of spinning, fibres from a mass of cotton (or wool, silk, etc.) are drawn out and twisted. This brings the tiny fibres together to form a long and twisted thread called ‘yarn’.
2. Fabric is made from yarn by the process of weaving or knitting.
In weaving, fabrics are produced by interlacing two different sets of yarns (threads) horizontally or vertically or by arranging yarns passing in one direction with other yarns at right angles to them.
In weaving, two sets of yarns are used simultaneously to make a fabric. Yarn is woven to make a fabric by using looms. There are two types of looms: handlooms and powerlooms. A loom that is worked by hand is called a handloom, and a loom that works on electric power is called a powerloom.
Knitting involves making a fabric by interlocking loops with a single yarn (single thread) like braids in rows, using needles that are hooked. In knitting, a single yarn is used to make a fabric. It is done by hand using needles, but machines are also used.
