A metaphor and a simile are quite similar actually. A metaphor also uses compares to things that are in no way similar. It does so to bring out the symbolism. A metaphor is a word or phrase used to show its similarity to another thing. It helps to explain an idea, but if you take a metaphor at its literal meaning it will sound absurd.
An example of a metaphor is “Alex is a chicken”. Literally, this sounds so very absurd. But this is a metaphor which suggests that Alex is a coward, or frightened. It compares or implies that Alex is a chicken to bring out the symbolism. Some other examples are ‘love is a battlefield”, “all the world’s a stage”, “that technology is a dinosaur” etc.
While a simile and metaphor seem to be very similar, there is one basic difference between the two. In a simile, the comparison happens with the help of the words “as” and “like”. A metaphor will not have either of those two words.

Assets are resources or items that a company, enterprise or even an individual can control, and these items can be sold or used to obtain a specific price or value in the market. Broadly, there are two major categories of assets, tangible and intangible, although these further comprise many different types of assets which will be discussed later.
A tangible asset could include any item, product or real-estate property, gold and even liquid cash. So if someone owns a flat or a plot of land, that is a tangible asset to them. A car, or some expensive equipment that can yield a hefty value when sold, is also an asset meaning that these items can give you financial benefits in the future.
A singer or an artist or a writer usually holds copyrights to their artistic works, albums and books. A scientist or designer can also file patents for their scientific work, innovations in design and breakthroughs in their work. All of these comprise intangible assets. When and if necessary, such assets can be sold, or used to increase the amount of money the individual or the company has.

During the Cold War years, India propogated the policy of non-alignment. It, however, maintained close ties the Soviet Union. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the enviorment changed and India found herself friendless in an hostile international scene. At the same time, India's policy of liberalisation and globalisation led to impressive economic growth in recent years. This has made the country an attractive economic partner for a number of countries including the US. As a result of two new factors i.e., technological dimension and the role of the Indian-American diaspora a new relationship emerged. At present about 300,000 Indians work in Silicon Valley and 15 per cent of all high-tech start-ups are by Indian Americans.
There are different alternatives before India that can be adopted in relations with the US. These are to maintain aloofness from the US, to take advantage of US hegemony or to establish a coalition of developing countries to reduce US dominance. Whatever policy India adopts, the fact remains that the relationship with USA has changed and the two countries have come closer to each other.

As it contains three carbon atoms, so the word root will be "prop". Because of the presence of functional group aldehyde, we will use "al" as a secondary suffix. As the "al" begins with the vowel "a", we will drop down the "e" from "Propane" and replace with "al". Therefore, the naming for CH3−CH2−CHO is "Propanal".

The DMK won power after having led a massive anti-Hindi agitation by students against the centre on the issue of imposition of Hindi as the official language. This was the first time any non-Congress party had secured a majority of its own in any State. In the other eight States, coalition governments consisting of different non-Congress parties were formed. A popular saying was that one could take a train from Delhi to Howrah and not pass through a single Congress ruled State. It was a strange feeling for those who were used to seeing the Congress in power
