Outbreeding devices are the method which is developed by plants into them for cross pollination. Plants evolved to develop these outbreeding devices . It promotes cross pollination as in cross pollination, plants reproduce and a new progeny is formed with better characters while in self pollination, new progeny does not have any new character but they have same character as their parents
