- Mr. Lamb had an optimistic attitude towards life.
- Though he was lame and had one leg made up of steel, he always used to be inspiring and believed in living life to the fullest.
- I really like Mr. Lamb’s attitude towards life.
- An instance of this could be seen when he inspired Derry to look at the world in a hopeful manner, he also told him that his face does not mean anything if he has a good heart.

Working of democracy in Pakistan :
(i) After Pakistan framed its first constitution, General Ayub Khan took over the administration of the country and soon got himself elected. He had to quit the office when there were agitations and dissatisfaction in his rule. This gave a way to the military to takeover the government of the country.
(ii) After 1971, an elected government was formed under the leadership of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, which was removed by General Zia-ul-Haq in 1977.
(iii) Again in 1982, in Pakistan, by a pro-democracy protest, democratic government was established in 1988, under the leadership of Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif. Later on, history repeated and General Pervez Musharraf again took the command in 1999 and got elected in 2005.
(iv) It is, therefore, said that military rule and ‘ democracy are two sides of the coin in Pakistan.
Though Pakistan’s politics centered around the competition between People’s party and Muslim League, Several factors have contributed to Pakistan’s failure in building a stable democracy.

Let
X, be the initial length, and r
Y be the cross-sectional area
R be the resistance of wire.
Let X', Y' and R' be the new length, cross- sectional area and resistance of wire after the length of wire is increased.
Length is increased by 0.1%, therefore,
L' = L+(0.1/100)L
L' = 1.001 L
Since the volume of wire remains same, thus,
V' = V
A'*L' = A*L
A' * 1.001 L = A*L
A' = A/1.001
New Resistance,
R' = ρL'/A'
= ρ*1.001 L/(A/1.001)
= (1.001)²(ρL/A)
R' = 1.002*R
% change in resistance = (Final resistance - Initial resistance)/Initial resistance * 100%
= (R' - R)/R*100%
= (1.002R - R)/R*100%
= 0.002 * 100%
= 0.2%
Thus, resistance of wire is increased by 0.2%.

Q u e s t i o n : An element crystallizes in a fcc lattice with cell edge of 400 pm. The density of the element is 7 g cm-3. How many atoms are Present in 280 g of the element ?
A n s w e r :
Volume of the unit cell a3 = (400 pm)3
Yogita Ingle 4 years, 9 months ago
Step I. Calculation of mass of an atom of the elements
Let the mass of an atom of the element = m gram
Mass of the unit cell = 4×m=(4m)
Edge length (a)= 400 pm = 400pm ×10−10
Volume of the unit cell =(400×10−10cm)3=64×10−24cm3
Density of unit cell = 7 g cm−3
Density of unit cell =Mass of unit cellvolume of unit cell=Mass of unit cellvolume of unit cell
(7 g cm−3)=(4m)g/ (64×10−24cm3)
m=(7gcm−3)×(64×10−24cm3)/ 4=112×10−24g
Step II. Calculation of the number of atoms in 280 g of the element.
No. of atoms=Mass of the elementMass of one atom of the elementNo. of atoms=Mass of the elementMass of one atom of the element
=(280g)/(112×10−24g)=2.5×1024atoms

Due to smaller atomic size the density of lone pair electrons on N in NH3 is larger than that of P in PH3. So, NH3 is a stronger Lewis base than that of PH3.

Physiology is the study of the characteristics and mechanisms of the human body.
Cells are the basic unit of life and approximately 100 trillion cells make up the typical human, each specially adapted to perform one or a few particular functions. Nearly 25 trillion red blood cells function by transporting oxygen from the lungs to all tissues in the body. All cells have some basic commonalities. Oxygen reacts with carbohydrates, fat, and protein to release energy, nutrient consumption, and energy production mechanisms. Almost all cells have the ability to reproduce further similar cells.

Psychological models maintain that psychological and interpersonal factors have a significant role to play in abnormal behaviour. These factors include:
• Maternal deprivation (separation from the mother, or lack of warmth and stimulation during early year of life).
• Faulty parent-child relationships (rejection, overprotection, over-permissiveness, faulty discipline, etc.
• Maladaptive family structures (inadequate or disturbed family) arid severe stress.
The psychological models include the psychodynamic, behavioural, cognitive, and humanistic-existential models.
(a) The Psychodynamic Model: This model is the oldest and most famous of the modem psychological-models.
Abnormal behaviour is viewed as the result of intrapsychic conflicts.
• This model was first formulated by Freud.
• Abnormal behaviour is a symbolic expression of unconscious mental conflicts that can be generally traced to early childhood or infancy.

Quartiles divide the entire set into four equal parts. So, there are three quartiles, first, second and third represented by Q1, Q2 and Q3, respectively. Q2 is nothing but the median, since it indicates the position of the item in the list and thus, is a positional average. To find quartiles of a group of data, we have to arrange the data in ascending order.
