Actually, both of them were like good and intimate friends. They spent most of the time together. She woke him up early in the morning and got him ready for school. She gave him a breakfast of stale bread with a little butter and sugar spread on it. She accompanied him to his school.

The grandmother looked extremely old. She was fat and slightly bent. Her face was a criss-cross of wrinkles. She couldn’t have grown older any more. She looked the same terribly old lady for the last twenty years. The narrator had never seen her being young or pretty. She always looked ‘terribly old’.

Perfectly inelastic demand implies that there is no change in quantity demanded with a change in the prices of that good. This is shown on a graph by a straight line parallel to 'Y' axis. In case of perfectly inelastic demand the curve is a vertical straight line parallel to 'OY' axis. This is because the change in price of the product or service has no impact on the quantity demanded as the elasticity is equal to zero.

The answer is 26 [most probably]
First find x
3[x]+2 = 2[x+4] [given]
3x + 2 = 2x + 8
3x - 2x = 8 - 2
therefore x = 6
Now, y=3[x]+2 or y = 2[x+4]
Putting the value of x ,
we get y = 20
now x+y = 20 + 6
= 26

From weight percentage given
In PCl3; 22.57 g of P combines with = 77.43 g of Cl and 1g of P would need = 3.43 g of Cl
and
In PH3; 91.18 g of P combines with = 8.82 g of H and 1g of P would need = 0.0967 g of H
their ratio is 35.47
Now, if we consider the HCl;
97.23 g of Cl need = 2.77 g of H
Now, if we compare the ratio of Cl:H here = 97.23/2.77 = 35.10
Now both the ratio are nearly equal (35.47:35.10)
Hence, it follows the law of reciprocal proportions

We have to show that P(A ∩ B) = P(A) ∩ P(B)
LHS:
Let x ∈ P(A ∩ B)
=> x ∈ (A ∩ B)
=> x ∈ A and x ∈ B .............1
RHS:
x ∈ P(A) ∩ P(B)
=> x ∈ A and x ∈ B ............2
From equation 1 and 2, we get
P(A ∩ B) = P(A) ∩ P(B)
Hence proved.

"Grandmother" was an old wrinkly woman, who couldn't have grown older. She was short, plump and slightly bent. She always wore a white saari, with silver locks covering her face, due to which the narrator describes her as being a "winter landscape in the mountains". She has a calm, gentle and reassuring face. She always has one hand supporting her back while the other is busy in telling the beads of rosary.
She is a saintly woman, quite religious and kind. This characteristics can be observed throughout the lesson, where the grandmother spends all her time in chanting prayers. She is very kind-hearted which is clearly seen from the instances where she feeds stale chapatis to dogs and crumbled bread to the sparrows.
She never shows her emotions, but loves her grand son dearly. Even when the author leaves for abroad she pretends that she doesn't care,but, she has a lot of affection and blessings for her dear grandson.
She is accustomed to old traditions, and isn't really interested in science and modern education. She has an old mindset due to which she revolts when the author tells her about the idea of learning music, as she believes music is a monopoly of harlots and beggars.
Despite her disagreements and conflicts, grandmother is purely a saintly woman with a heart of gold.

Potato is a stem and sweet potato is a root because the stem of the potato has undergone modifications in order to store food whereas in a sweet potato the root has undergone modifications in order to store the food.
In certain plants, the roots, stem, and leaves undergo modifications to store food in order to use under unfavourable conditions.
The modified stems are usually called as ‘tubers’ and the modified roots are usually called as tuberous roots or storage roots.

The narrator’s parents sent for them in the city. It was the turning point of their friendship. The city life and the English school made all the difference. She didn’t accompany him to his school. Nor could she help him in his studies. She didn’t like the new English school either. They saw less of each other now.
