It is defined as the fraction (or percentage) of the total salt which is hydrolysed at equilibrium. For example, if 90% of a salt solution is hydrolysed, its degree of hydrolysis is 0.90 or as 90%. It is generally represented by ‘’.

Salts of strong acids and strong bases do not undergo hydrolysis (they undergo only ionization) hence the resulting aqueous solution is neutral.

Electron gain enthalpy of an element is the energy released when a neutral isolated gaseous atom accepts an extra electron to form the gaseous negative Ion i.e. anion. We can denote it by Δ egH. Greater the amount of energy released in the above process, higher is the electron gain enthalpy of the element.

  • Energy is released when an electron is added to the atom. Therefore, the electron gain enthalpy is negative.
  • The electron gain enthalpy for halogens is highly negative because they can acquire the nearest stable noble gas configuration by accepting an extra electron.
  • Noble gases have large positive electron gain enthalpy. This is because the extra electron is placed in the next higher principal quantum energy levels. Thus, a highly unstable electronic configuration is produced.

The force of attraction existing between hydrogen atom which is attached to highly electronegative atom in a covalent molecule and more electronegative atom of another covalent molecule is called hydrogen bonding.

Hydrogen bond is possible mostly in polar covalent molecules where partial charge separation is there.

As this bond existed between partial charges, it is considered to be weak bond than ionic and covalent bonds.

Ex: Hydrogen bond present in HF molecule.

Assets are any resources that are owned by a business. (Any resources means har vo cheez ko business ki property hai ex goods building Machine land equipment.)

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 4 months ago

Any valuable thing which has monetary value and owned by a business, is its asset. In other words, assets are the monetary values of the properties or the legal rights that are owned by the business organisations.

Fixed Assets− These are those assets that are hold for the long term and increase the profit earning capacity and productive capacity of the business. These assets are not meant for sale, for example, land, building machinery, etc.

Current Assets− Assets that can be easily converted into cash or cash equivalents are termed as current assets. These are required to run day to day business activities; for example, cash, debtors, stock, etc.

π/60×180 = π/ 10800

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 4 months ago

We know that,

                        360° = 2π radians

Hence, 1° = 2 π/ 360 → (1)

             10° = [2 π/ 360° ] x 10 = π/ 18 radians

60 minutes = 1°

Substituting (1),

              60 minutes = 2 π/ 360

             One minute = 2 π/ (360 x 60)

             One minute = π/ 10800 radians → (2)

1J= 10⁷erg
10J = 10×10⁷ erg = 10⁸erg

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 4 months ago

we know, 1 Joule = 1 Kg m²/s²
1 erg = 1 g cm²/s²
so, 1 Joule = 1Kg m²/s²
= {1000 g} {100cm}²/s². [ 1kg = 1000g and 1m = 100cm]
= 1000 × 10000 g cm²/s²
= 10000000 erg
hence, 1 Joule = 107 erg
so, 10 Joule = 10 × 107 erg = 108 erg

The indirect sources of information of the interior are :

(i)Density - The density of the sedimentary rocks is 2.7 and beneath the sedimentary rocks the density of igneous rocks is 3.5. This means that the density inside the earth is much higher. It is estimated that the core of the earth has the density of 11 to 12.

(ii)Temperature - There is a gradual increase in the temperature as depth increases. The rate of increase is 12°C per km at a depth of 100km. It is 2°C/km at a depth of 300 km and 1°C per km, below it.

(iii)Pressure- Like density and temperature, pressure also increases with the increase in depth inside the earth. It is due to overlying layers or depressions of the heavier material. It is estimated that the pressure at the centre of the earth is about 3500 kilobars.

(iv)The other indirect sources include gravitational magnetic field and the seismic activity. The gravitational force is greater near the poles and lesser at the equator.

(v)The gravity values also differ according to the mass of the material. Uneven distribution of the mass of material within the earth influences this value.

The law of variable proportions state that as the quantity of one factor is increased, keeping the other factors fixed, the marginal product of that factor will eventually decline. The law of variable proportions is as follows: “If a producer increases the units of a variable factor while keeping other factors fixed, then initially the total product increases at an increasing rate, then it increases at a diminishing rate, and finally starts declining.”
