Ortho is more acidic than para because of negative inductive as well as negative resonance effect are operated by no2 in Ortho nitro phenol. Also when no2 is on para position, there is a lot of distance between OH and NO2, so only negative inductive effect operates.

Stress/strain = constant

Ayushi Ayushi 6 years, 10 months ago

According to Hooke's law strain produced in any body, is directly proportional to stress applied within the elastic limit. Moreover, For a spring, F needed to extend or compress by some distance X is proportional to that distance. That is,F=- kX , where k is a constant factor characteristic of the spring: its stiffness, and X is small compared to the total possible deformation of the spring. Assumption: 1. This law is true only for linear elastic bodies.
