A warehouse is a commercial building for storage of goods. These are used by manufactures, importers, exporters, wholesalers, etc. Usually they are the large buildings located in industrial areas of cities and towns. Warehouses help the businessmen to keep their stocks in safe custody during dull season. In this way, they have created the time utility.
Numerous of functions are performed by warehouses. Such as
(i) Consolidation The warehouse receives and consolidates materials/goods from different production plants and dispatches the same to a particular customer on a single transportation shipment.

(ii) Break the Bulk The warehouse divides the bulk quantity of goods received from the production plants into smaller quantities to be transported according to the requirements of clients to their places of business.

(iii) Stock Piling Goods or raw materials which are not required immediately for sale or manufacturing are stored in warehouse to be made available to business depending on customers demand.
(iv) Value Added Services Provision of value added services such as in transit mixing, packaging and labelling is also a function of modern warehousing. Sometimes goods need to he opened and repackaged and labelled again at the time of inspection by prospective buyers.
Another function of modem warehouses is to grade goods according to quantity and divide goods in smaller lots.
(v) Price Stabilisation Warehousing performs the function of stabilising prices-by adjusting the supply of goods according to demand. Thus, prices are controlled from falling when supply is increasing and demand is slack and from rising in the reverse situation.
(vi) Financing Warehouse owners provide loans to the owners on security of goods and further
supply goods on credit terms to customers.

  • It is a curve between stress and strain.
  • A graph is plotted between the stress (which is equal in magnitude to the applied force per unit area) and the strain produced.
  • The graph helps us to understand how a given material deforms with increasing loads.
  • The curve between O and A, is a straight line. This means stress is directly ∝ to strain. In this region Hooke’s Law is applicable.
  • In this region the material behaves like an elastic body.
  • In the region from A to B, stress and strain are not directly ∝. But still the material returns to its original dimension after the force is removed. They exhibit elastic properties.
  • The point B in the curve is known as yield point (also known as elastic limit) which means till this point the material will be elastic in behaviour and the stress corresponding to point B is known as yield strength (Sy) of the material.
  • The region between O and B is called as Elastic region.
  • From point B to point D we can see that strain increases rapidly even for small change in stress.
  • Even if we remove the force the material does not come back to its original position. At this point stress is zero but strain is not zero as body has changed its shape.
  • The material has undergone plastic deformation.
  • The material is said to be permanent set.
  • The point D on the graph is known as ultimate tensile strength (Su) of the material.
  • From D to E we can see that stress decreases even if strain increases.
  • Finally at point E fracture occurs. This means the body breaks.

The wavelength of the light and the magnification of the microscope is inversely proportional which means the longer the wavelength, the less the magnification and vice versa. The magnification defines the how closer the object is viewed. Microscope resolution is also impacted by the wavelength of light being used to illuminate the specimen. Longer wavelengths of light offer less resolution than short wavelength illumination. ... As light slows down the wavelength gets shorter and yields better resolution.

  • Statement of newton's third law of motion is " To every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction".
  • Thus, whenever a body exerts force on another then another object exert an equal force on previous body but in opposite direction
  • Force example motion of rocket depends on the third law of motion i.e, action and reaction .Rocket exerts action force on gas jet in backward direction
  • Force of action and reaction acts on different objects i.e,
  • Force object 1 exerts on object 2= Force object 2 exerts on object 1
  • i.e,
  • F12=-F21
  • Action=-(Reaction)
  • According to Newtonian mechanics force is always a mutual interaction between the bodies and force always occurs in pairs
  • Equal and opposite mutual forces between two bodies is the basic idea between Newton's third law of motion

5N negative side

Gaurav Seth 6 years ago

Explanation:

It is given that,

Force 1,  F1 = 10 N (along +x axis)

Force 2,  F2 = 15 N (along -x axis)

We need to find the resultant of two forces. Let the resultant is F. The angle between the both forces are 180 degrees. There resultant is given by :

F = f1 - f2

F = 10 N - 15 N

F = -5 N

So, the resultant force is 5 N in -x axis. Hence, this is the required solution.

Kepler’s third law of planetary motion is called the ‘law of periods’ According to this law, the square of the time period of a planet is directly proportional to the cube of the semi-major axis of its elliptical orbit. That is, T squared is proportional to R cubed, where T is the time taken by the planet for one rotation and R is the length of the semi-major axis of its elliptical orbit. Kepler’s laws revolutionised the field of astronomy and have helped people understand the configuration and movement of planets better.

Gaurav Seth 6 years ago

Kepler’s second law of planetary motion is the ‘law of areas’. According to this law, the line joining the sun and a planet, sweeps equal areas in equal intervals of time. Consider a planet revolving around the sun.

Let ‘P1’ and ‘P2’ represent its positions at the start and end of 30-day duration. Let A1 represent the area swept during this period. Similarly, let ‘P3’ and ‘P4’ represent two positions of the planet during its revolution for a 30-day duration represented by A2. According to Kepler’s second law of planetary motion, area A1 equals area A2. The concept of Kepler’s second law can be understood by the fact that the angular momentum of the planet revolving in its orbit remains constant. This is because it is under the influence of a central force.

The force of attraction pulls the planet towards the sun and the magnitude depends on the distance between them. For a body under the action of a central force, the angular momentum, ‘L’, which is the product of ‘mvr,’ remains constant. Where, ‘r’ is the radius vector; ‘v’ is the velocity vector and ‘m’ the mass of the body.

Gaurav Seth 6 years ago

Kepler’s first law, the ‘law of orbits’, states that all the planets revolve in elliptical orbits with the sun at one of the focii of the ellipse (path of the planets).

Observe the figure of ellipse. Points F1 and F2 are called the focii, and ‘O,’ is the centre of the ellipse. For any point ‘P’ on the ellipse, the sum of the lengths PF1 and PF2 is constant. So, as per the first law, the sun is at one of the focii of the ellipse and the planets rotate around it in elliptical orbits. Also the sum of the lengths PF1 and PF2 is always constant.

Mothers do always take care of their children and husband without expecting anything in return.

But taking mothers for granted is not at all a respectful thing to do.

Children and husband must have respect for their mother and wife respectively.

A woman should also teach her husband and children to value her with respect.

We should respect our mothers spend time with them. And not think only them as maids

In the poem ‘Childhood’, Markus Natten depicts the reality of childhood innocence gradually transforming into adult rationality, hypocrisy and individuality. The poem begins with the poet wondering when did his childhood go – was it the day he ceased to be eleven; was it the day when he could distinguish between fantasy and reality by realizing that heaven and hell don’t exist since they are not found in geography books; was it the day when he could understand the hypocrisy of adults by realizing that people were not all that they pretended to be; or was it the day when he became conscious of his own growing individuality by realising that he had a mind of his own and that he was capable of producing thoughts and opinions that were different from other people.

In the final lines, the poet concludes the speculations in his mind regarding his lost childhood. He now tries to understand where his childhood has gone. Though he is not aware of the day he lost his childhood, he knows that it has gone to some forgotten place, that is, on the face of an infant. The poet believes that though his childhood has become a memory for him, it has become a reality for some other child. Childhood is a cyclic process, where it leaves one person and goes to another.
