Firm. A firm is a single producing unit which produces goods and services for sale. Its main objective is to earn maximum profit.
Industry. An industry is an aggregate of all the firms producing the same product or interrelated product Alternatively, all the firms producing and selling the same or differentiated products of close substitutes are collectively known as an industry. For instance, firms manufacturing shoes will be collectively called shoe industry. Clearly a firm is a part of an industry.
Price determination. (Industry price-maker and firm price-taker). Under perfect competition, price of a commodity is determined by the equilibrium between market demand and market supply of the whole industry. So, the industry is called the price-maker. Here demand and supply represent total demand and total supply of industry. No individual firm can influence the price because its share in total supply is insignificant. Every firm has to accept the given price and adjust its level of output. It has no option but to sell the product at a price determined at industry level. If is because of this reason that firm is said to be price-taker and industry, the price-maker. This price is also called equilibrium price, because at this price quantity demanded is equal to quantity supplied. This can be illustrated with the help of the following demand and supply schedule and diagram of the industry:

By the tenth century, a mamie world had emerged which was easily recognisable by travellers. Religious buildings were the greatest external symbols of this world. Mosques, shrine3 and tombs from Spain to Central Asia showed the same basic design-arches, domes, minarets and open courtyards and expressed the spritual and practical needs of Muslims.
i. In the first Islamic century, the mosque acquired a distinct architectural form (roof supported by pillars) which transcended regional variations. The mosque had an open courtyard (sahn ) where a fountain or pond was placed, leading to a vaulted hall which could accommodate long lines of worshippers and the prayer leader (imam).
ii. Attached to the building was the minaret, a tower used to call the faithful to prayer at the appointed times and to symbolise the presence of the new faith. Time was marked in cities and villages by the five daily prayers and weekly sermons.
iii. The same pattern of construction - of buildings built around a central courtyard (iwan)- appeared not only in mosques and mausoleums but also in caravanserais, hospitals and palaces.

The shape of the calcium channel protein allows only calcium ions to pass through the channel. ... There the calcium ions interact with the neurotransmitter containing vesicles (membrane-bound containers) causing them to fuse with the cell membrane, and release the neurotransmitters into the synaptic cleft. Calcium (Ca2+) is a vital element in the process of neurotransmitter release; when Ca2+ channels are blocked, neurotransmitter release is inhibited. Storage of the neurotransmitter in storage granules or vesicles in the axon terminal. Calcium enters the axon terminal during an action potential, causing release of the neurotransmitter into the synaptic cleft. After its release, the transmitter binds to and activates a receptor in the postsynaptic membrane.
