Angular momentum is defined as: The property of any rotating object given by moment of inertia times angular velocity.
It is the property of a rotating body given by the product of the moment of inertia and the angular velocity of the rotating object. It is a vector quantity, which implies that here along with magnitude, direction is also considered.

There are four universal or fundamental forces in nature. Without these forces, all matter in the world will fall apart. Force as such is any pull or push that causes an object to alter its physical state (in terms of motion or deformity). Newton defined a force as anything that causes an object of mass ‘m’ to move with an acceleration ‘a’. Following are the four fundamental forces in nature:
- Gravitational force
- Electromagnetic force
- Strong nuclear force
- Weak nuclear force

Taxonomical aids are the collections of samples or preserved organisms which help in extensive research for the identification of various taxonomic hierarchy. Classifying organisms into various categories needs a lot of field and laboratory study. This is so important because taxonomic categorization helps in identifying many organisms necessary in various fields like agriculture, industries, bioresources, etc.
The taxonomical Aids are the main source which helps us in studying the relative level of a group of organisms, their taxonomic hierarchy and the taxonomic rank.
Taxonomical Aids are required for:
- Taxonomic studies of various species of plants, animals, and other organisms, which require correct classifications and identification.
- Identification of organisms require laboratory and field studies.
- Museum.
- Herbarium.
- Zoological Parks.
- Botanical Gardens.

Four main causes of an earthquake are:
Folding and Faulting: A fault is a fracture or a crack in the rock surface where already a great deal of displacement has taken place. If a fault is located in a zone, where the plates moves against each other, the chances of earthquakes occurring are more. San Andreas Fault of California is one such example.
Plate Tectonics: The lithosphere is broken into a number of plates called the lithospheric plates. When these plates collide with each other or slip past each other, their edges results in the creation of faults along the lines of weakness. Many earthquakes take place because of the movements of these plates.
Volcanoes: Most volcanic eruptions are accompanied by earthquakes. However, many active volcanoes are located far away from the plate margins.
Isostatic Disturbances: Isostatic disturbances may cause disturbance equilibrium of the earth’s crust. These disturbances may be produced by the deposition of sediments brought down by the rivers and glaciers on the ocean floor. As asthenosphere is in a semi molten state, the disturbance in the equilibrium may result in an earthquake.
Human Made Causes: Nuclear explosions, or the building of a large dams or water reservoirs near a fault zone may cause earthquakes in the region. One such example was the Koyna earthquake in Maharashtra which was caused due to the construction of the Koyna dam in 1957.

An opportunity cost is the cost of an alternative that must be forgone in order to pursue a certain action. In other words, the cost of enjoying more of one good in terms of sacrificing the benefit of another good is termed as opportunity cost of the additional unit of the good.
Example: We have Rs 15,000 with two choices a) to invest in the shares of a company XYZ or b) to make a fixed deposit which gives interest 9%. If the company XYZ gives a return of 15%, we will benefit when we invest in the shares as the alternative would be less profitable. However if company’s return is only 3% when we could have made a return of 9% from FD, then our opportunity cost is (9% - 3% = 6%).

- Any uncertainty resulting from measurement by a measuring instrument is called error. They can be systematic or random.
- Accuracy of a measurement is how close the measured value is to the true value.
- Precision is the resolutionor closeness of a series of measurements of a same quantity under similar conditions.
- If the true value of a certain length is 3.678 cm and two instruments with different resolutions, up to 1 (less precise) and 2 (more precise) decimal places respectively, are used. If first measures the length as 3.5 and the second as 3.38 then the first has more accuracy but less precision while the second has less accuracy and more precision.
