Engine refers to the driving force that brings a machine to action. However, the engine also needs fuel to work. Similarly, with the arrival of the goldfinch, ‘a machine starts up’ as the entire tree livens up with the chitterings, singing, and commotion caused by the bird and its young ones. Thus, the tree is compared to a machine whose ignition is turned on by the arrival of the bird.

Sometimes they raise issues in the Assembly and request the government to take measures as soon as possible. The government departments take action and direct the officials to look into the matter of various issues and do the needful. They try to satisfy the MLAs who ask questions to them by giving proper answers. They assure the Assembly members that urgent steps will be taken to control the situation.

A Web application builds on and extends a Web system to add business functionality. In its simplest terms, a Web application is a Web system that allows its users to execute business logic with a Web browser. This is not a very precise definition, but most people’s conception of a Web application is not, either. There is a subtle distinction between a Web application and a Web site.

Cultivation on planters own land was referred to as open field system.
The traditional medieval system of farming in England, in which land was divided into strips and managed by an individual only in the growing season, being available to the community for grazing animals during the rest of the year.
The large parts of England the country side was open. It was not partitioned into enclosed lands privately owned by landlords.
Peasants cultivated on strips of land around the village they lived in.
Beyond these strips of cultivation lay the common land. All villagers had access to the commons.
Here, they pastured their cows and grazed their sheep, collected fuel wood for fire and berries and fruits for food.

In the thirteenth century the term "Hindustan" meant the areas of Punjab, Haryana and the lands between the Ganga and Yamuna. The term was used in the political sense for lands that were a part of the dominions of the Delhi Sultan. The areas included in this term shifted with the extent of the Sultanate but the term never included south India. In the early sixteenth century Babur used Hindustan to describe the geography, the fauna and the culture of the inhabitants of the subcontinent. While the idea of a geographical and cultural entity like 'India' did exist, the term "Hindustan" did not carry the political and national meanings which we associate with it today. Today we understand the term "Hindustan" as "India", the modern nation-state.

....i turned back, only to find no one standing behind me. 'Who called me??', was the only question that repeated itself in my brain. i was hearing these voices from yesterday, but couldn't find out who it was. i heard someone calling me again. a shiver ran down my spine. i called out to the person telling him to come out of hiding. but there was no answer. i rushed out of the room, taking deep breaths, thinking what had just happened.i recalled the events that happened yesterday..- it was a rainy day. i was at home watching a movie, when i heard something from the kitchen. i went to see what it was. as i walked into the kitchen, i slipped on something and fell. my hand automatically held something for support. something very strong passed through me and everything went blank. i woke up the next morning and realized what had happened. i held the toaster with my wet hands resulting in an electric shock... My thoughts got interrupted by a voice calling my name. this time it came from above my head. i looked up in fear. i saw a small creature crawling across the ceiling, staring at me. i stared back. how was this possible? a lizard can't talk. then i realized, i just started to listen to animals' voices.
