The process of removal of anthers from the flower is called as emasculation. It is done before dehiscence to prevent contamination of stigma with any undesired pollen and to ensure cross-pollination by desired pollens. Emasculation is useful in artificial hybridization to pollinate stigma with selected emasculated pollens only. Emasculation is performed by plant breeders in bisexual flowers to obtain the desired variety of a plant by crossing a particular plant with the desired pollen grain. To remove the anthers, the flowers are covered with a bag before they open. This ensures that the flower is pollinated by pollen grains obtained from desirable varieties only. Later, the mature, viable, and stored pollen grains are dusted on the bagged stigma by breeders to allow artificial pollination to take place and obtain the desired plant variety.

The technological and institutional changes initiated in India to improve the condition of farmers include:
The land reforms initiated in the first five-year plan aimed to:
- abolish zamindari and
- consolidate land holdings. The consolidation of land holdings involved combining adjacent small fields into single large farms and encouraging individual land owners to do cooperative farming.
Agricultural reforms in the 1960s and 1970s known as the green revolution in India:
- Providing high yielding varieties of seeds and fertilisers to farmers, and
- Developing large-scale irrigation facilities to allow them to grow two crops in a year.
- Continued expansion of farming areas.

Pythagoras’ Theorem: In a right-angled triangle, the square on the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares on the other two sides.
Given: Let XYZ be a triangle in which ∠YXZ = 90°.
YZ is the hypotenuse.

To prove: XY2 + XZ2 = YZ2.
Construction: Draw XM ⊥YZ.
Therefore, ∠XMY = ∠XMZ = 90°.
Proof:
|
Statement |
Reason |
|
1. In ∆XYM and ∆XYZ, (i) ∠XMY = ∠YXZ = 90° (ii) ∠XYM = ∠XYZ |
1. (i) Given and by construction (ii) Common angle |
|
2. Therefore, ∆XYM ∼ ∆ZYX |
2. BY AA criterion of similarity |
|
3. Therefore, XYYZXYYZ = YMXYYMXY |
3. Corresponding sides of similar triangle are proportional |
|
4. Therefore, XY22 = YZ ∙ YM |
4. By cross multiplication in statement 3. |
|
5. In ∆XMZ and ∆XYZ, (i) ∠XMY = ∠YXZ = 90° (ii) ∠XZM = ∠XZY |
5. (i) Given and by construction (ii) Common angle |
|
6. Therefore, ∆XMZ ∼ ∆YXZ. |
6. BY AA criterion of similarity |
|
7. Therefore, XZ/YZ/ = MZ/XZ |
7. Corresponding sides of similar triangle are proportional |
|
8. Therefore, XZ2 = YZ ∙ MZ |
8. By cross multiplication in statement 7. |
|
9. Therefore, XY2 + XZ2 = YZ ∙ YM + YZ ∙ MZ ⟹ XY2 + XZ2 = YZ(YM+ MZ) ⟹ XY2 + XZ2 = YZ ∙ YZ ⟹ XY2 + XZ2= YZ2 |
9. By adding statements 4 and 8 |

A sound is a form of energy, just like electricity, heat or light. Let’s examine some sources of sounds like a bell. When you strike a bell, it makes a loud ringing noise. Now, instead of just listening to the bell, put your finger on the bell after you have struck it. Can you feel it vibrating? This is the key to the sound. It is even more evident in guitars and drums. You can see the wires vibrating every time you pluck it. When the bell or the guitar stops vibrating, the sound also stops.

Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels added other ideas regarding socialism and communism and one such example is the Marxist Theory:
Society was capitalist. Capitalists owned capital and profit was by workers.
Condition of workers will not improve if profit is collected by capitalists.
Workers should overthrow capitalism exploitation and construct a radically socialist society.

The self-inductance of the coil depends on its geometry and on the permeability of the medium. The self-induced emf is also called the back emf as it opposes any change in the current in a circuit. Physically, the self-inductance plays the role of inertia. It is the electromagnetic analogue of mass in mechanics. So, work needs to be done against the back emf (ε) in establishing the current. This work done is stored as magnetic potential energy
