RAM and ROM are both types of computer memory. RAM is used to store computer programs and data that CPU needs in real time. RAM data is volatile and is erased once computer is switched off. ROM have prerecorded data and it is used to boot computer. RAM data is static and remains in the computer even if computer is switched off.

Rock Cycle

The process of transformation of rocks from one form to an other in a cyclic manner is known as the rock cycle. It includes the following processes:

• Hot lava cools down to form igneous rocks.
• These igneous rocks are then broken down into small particles which are transported and then deposited. This results in the formation of sedimentary rocks
• When these igneous and sedimentary rocks are subjected to great heat and pressure, they change into metamorphic rocks.
• These metamorphic rocks under heat and pressure breakdown and form hot lava.
• This hot magma then again cools down and forms igneous rocks.

Fxed point F is called the focus.

A line through focus & perpendicular to directrix is called axis .

Point of intersection of parabola with axis is called vertex.

The South African Constitution inspires democrats all over the world. South Africa was a country which was looked down upon by many during the Apartheid regime.Today the determination of the people of South Africa to work together, without bearing any grudge against the white regime looked upon with great respect. South Africa has made its constitution just like an ideal constitution for every country to follow. The South African Constitution sees people of all skin colour as equal. Men and women are treated equally in this country. Blacks, whites and coloured people, men and women, live as free citizens, in total harmony in South Africa. This just because of its constitution. 

Preamble is an introductory statement to the Constitution which contains the ideals on which the Constitution is based and the basic underlying principles of the Constitution.
Importance of the Preamble can be stated as follows
(i) The Preamble contains the philosophy on which the entire Constitution has been built. It provides a standard to examine and evaluates any law and action of government to find out whether it is good or bad. Hence, it is the soul of the Constitution.
(ii) The Preamble shows the way the government ought to run. It declares India to be a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic.
(iii) It envisages justice-social, economic and political-for all its citizens. It seeks to give the citizens all types of freedoms-freedom of thought and expression, freedom of belief and worship etc.
(iv) The Preamble mentions people as the source of the Constitution. It seeks to provide equality of status and opportunity to all individuals and thus promotes a sense of brotherhood among all citizens.

The main features of the Constitution of 1791 are given below: 
(i) France became a Constitutional monarchy. The powers of the king were reduced to a great extent. 
(ii) These powers instead of being concentrated in the hands of one person, were now separated and assigned to different institutionsthe legislature, executive and judiciary. This made France a constitutional monarchy. 
(iii) The Constitution of 1791 vested the power to make laws in the National Assembly, which was indirectly elected i.e. citizens voted for a group of electors, who in turn chose the Assembly. 
(iv) Only men above 25 years of age who paid taxes equal to at least 3 days of a labourer's wage were given the right to vote. It means they were active citizens. The remaining men and all women were classed as passive citizens. 
(v) To qualify as an elector and then as a member of the assembly a man had to belong to the highest bracket of tax payers. 
(vi) The constitution began with a Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen. Rights such as the right to life, freedom of speech, freedom of opinion, equality before law could now be availed by each human being by birth.

The Reign of Terror (From 1793 to 1794) The period from 1793 to 1794 is known as the Reign of Terror. Maximilian Robespierre sentenced to death all those persons who he considered as enemies of the republic, whether they were ex-noble, clergy, and members of any political parties; including Jacobins.

Government accountability is achieved through the use of a variety of mechanisms political, legal, and administrative designed to prevent corruption and ensure that public officials remain answerable and accessible to the people they serve. In the absence of such mechanisms, corruption may thrive.

Demerits of democracy:

• Democracy is all about political competition and power play. There is no scope for morality.
• Consultation in a democracy from many people leads to delays.
• Not knowing the best interest of the people by the elected leaders leads to bad decisions.
• Democracy leads to corruption for it is based on electoral competition.

Corruption is the misuse of public power (by elected politician or appointed civil servant) for private gain.

In order to ensure that not ony public corruption but also private corruption between individuals and businesses could be covered by the same simple definition: Corruption is the misuse of entrusted power (by heritage, education, marriage, election, appointment or whatever else) for private gain.
