Consciousness is the state of being aware of surrounding. It is defined by the ability of the organism to respond to the stimulus which is known as irritability. If an organism is able to respond to stimuli, that means it is aware. As irritability is defining the property of life, so consciousness can be considered as defining property of a living organism.

Metabolism is the ability to split the complex substance (catabolism) and convert them into simpler ones which further forms energy (anabolism). The energy helps to carry several metabolic and physiological function which makes metabolism an important and defining property of life.

*Given a function of the form f(x)=ax2+bx+c, one can find the zeroes of the function (that is, where f(x)=0) by using the quadratic formula: x=−b±√b2−4ac2a. If the discriminant b2−4ac is less than zero, these roots will be complex or imaginary, and if the discriminant is greater than or equal to 0. these roots will be real. The use of ± informs us that there are two solutions here; one where we are subtracting √b2−4ac, and one where we are adding it.* For a step by step example, assume the function f(x)=x2−7x+10. Here a=1,b=−7,c=10. If we set f(x)=0, then the values of x for which f(x)=0, that is to say the roots of f(x), would be determined by the quadratic formula: x=−(−7)±√(−7)2−4(1)(10)2(1)=7±√49−402=7±√92=7±32. Thus, our roots will be at x=7+32 and x=7−32 or x=5 and x=2. On the graph of the function, we would see that the parabola crosses the x-axis at x=2 and x=5.

The most respected person in one’s life is a teacher. The person who shows you the right path and tries to take out all evil from you is the teacher. The parent give you the birth and bring you up but the teacher makes you a human by ridding you of all unnecessary and unwanted elements. He makes you fit to raise your head high in the society. He shows you the way to righteousness. Very few people are fortunate enough to meet good teachers. A good teacher is an incarnation of God. Indian history is replete with great teachers who have left indelible impressions on the history of India.     The teachers of modern life are no doubt, a changed lot. Teaching has ceased to be just a service of God’s people. It is also taken up as a profession as the others are. So the teachers also sell their services and talents as other professionals do. The profession of a teacher continues to be a honourable one and people wish to enter in the profession. But becoming a teachers is not easy. You cannot tackle a class successfully unless you have mastered your subject, so all teachers are not good teachers. Greed for money and position has  entered this profession also. Many teachers have turned to be most exploiters of their profession but still there are lots of such teachers who are worth worship. They put their hearts and should into their students and do not join the race competition of their  colleagues. Such teachers leave indelible impressions in the  minds of students who never forget their favourite  teachers. Every successful person has been fortunate to sit  before one or two such teachers. These teachers continue to be the topic of their various discussions all their lives and they continues to get inspiration from them. Generally these days the school have become highly commercial. They charge lot of fees and studies have become very expensive especially in big cities. In this speedy race for money the teacher is also exploited. He is not paid his due and he is also seen involved in unfair means to earn extra money. They force the students to take tuitions in the evenings besides their legitimate class. Numerous such tuition centres are unhealthy trend. The teacher should try to preserve the high morale of his profession by trying to show his worth in the  class for which he is paid and not engage in such unethical behaviour.

The concept of good governance is not a new concept, even though it seems to be the buzzword now for major organisations and aid-givers to evaluate whether aid should be given to countries or not.

  • In India, the concept was talked about in the Arthashastra, authored by Chanakya. He mentions the characteristics of a good king thus, “In the happiness of his subjects lies his happiness, in their welfare his welfare; whatever pleases himself, he does not consider as good, but whatever pleases his subjects he considers as good.”
  • Mahatma Gandhi had also given the term ‘Su- Raaj’ literally meaning good governance.
  • Governance can be defined as ‘the process of decision-making and the process by which decisions are implemented.’
  • Governance refers to the decision-making and administration involved in any level, i.e., national, regional, local, corporate, family, etc.
  • Government is a key actor in governance.

(i) ‘Make in India' will increase supply (inflow) of foreign exchange in India causing improvement in the balance of payments position. (ii) Import of pulses will lead to outflow of foreign exchange from the country causing adverse effect on balance of payment position.

(a) "Make in India" programme will have favourable effect on balance of payments. Because: (i) It will reduce the imports of commodities which will be made in India. Ultimately, we will be in the position to export. This will make BOP favourable. (ii) It will help in import substitution. (b) Imports of pulses: It will make balance of payments adverse. Because of imports we will have to make payments.

An accountable government is answerable to its citizens. It is responsible for all the decisions it makes on behalf of its citizens.

Government accountability means that public officials elected and un-elected have an obligation to explain their decisions and actions to the citizens. Government accountability is achieved through the use of a variety of mechanisms political, legal, and administrative designed to prevent corruption and ensure that public officials remain answerable and accessible to the people they serve. In the absence of such mechanisms, corruption may thrive.
