The very basic answer is that she spent most of her life in a very simple and religious surrounding and in the city most of these things are found absent .moreover she was fond of greenery around her but in cities there is lack of trees. Other thing that Pinched her the most was the type of education that was imparted to the author in the English School. The music that she thought was meant for the beggar folk was given as education in the English schools that hurted her the most. That is the reason why she felt disappointed and remained alone in the City

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 1 month ago (2898529)

The grandmother did not like the teaching at English school in the city. She was sad that they did not teach anything about God and the religious scriptures. Nor was she interested in science. She hated music lessons given in the school.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 1 month ago (2577571)

Grandmother is unhappy with the city's education because she is of old thoughts.

She liked the teaching in the schools of the village where they taught about religion and the gods.

She didn't like that school does not teach a thing about religion which according to her was the most important thing.

  • Inertia is the natural tendency of an object to resist a change in its state of motion or of rest.
  • The mass of an object is a measure of its inertia.

Law of conservation of momentum states that For two or more bodies in an isolated system acting upon each other, their total momentum remains constant unless an external force is applied. Therefore, momentum can neither be created nor destroyed.

In the first law, an object will not change its motion unless a force acts on it. In the second law, the force on an object is equal to its mass times its acceleration. In the third law, when two objects interact, they apply forces to each other of equal magnitude and opposite direction.

Planning is widely accepted strategy for
judicious use of resources in a country like India which has enormous diversity in the availability of resources.
(i) There are regions which are rich in certain types of resources, but are deficient in some other resources.
(ii) There are some regions which can be considered self-sufficient in terms of the availability of resources and there are some regions which have acute shortage of some vital resources.
e.g. The states of Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh are rich in minerals and coal deposits. Arunachal Pradesh has abundance of water resources, but lacks in infrastructural development. The state of Rajasthan is very well endowed with solar and wind energy, but lacks in water resources. So, to cope up with all these diversities, planning in required.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 1 month ago (2577571)

Caustic soda is an alkali salt which is also called Lye. It is the common name of sodium hydroxide.

Sodium hydroxide can be prepared by various methods like:

  1. Castner-Kellner process
  2. Nelson Diaphragm cell
  3. Loewig’s process

Caustic Soda Uses

  • It is used as a cleansing agent and in the manufacturing of washing soda.
  • Sometimes, sodium hydroxide is also used as a reagent in the laboratories.

Mendeleev could predict the properties of several elements on the basis of their positions in the periodic table. Mendeleev periodic could accommodate noble gases. Demerits:- Could not assign a correct position to hydrogen. Position of isotopes could not be explained.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 1 month ago (2577571)

Achievements of Mendeléev’s periodic table

  • element with a slightly greater atomic mass were placed
before an element with a slightly lower atomic mass with an inverted sequence so as to group the elements with similar properties. For example, cobalt with atomic mass 58.9 was placed before nickel with atomic mass 58.7.
  • He left some gaps in the Periodic Table with the prediction of
existence of some elements that were not discovered at that time.
  • He named the future elements by prefixing a Sanskrit numeral, Eka (one) to the name of preceding element in the same group.
  • For instance, scandium, gallium and germanium, discovered later, have properties
    similar to Eka–boron, Eka–aluminium and Eka–silicon, respectively.
  • Noble gases like helium (He), neon (Ne) and argon (Ar) were discovered
later as they are present in exceptionally low concentrations in the atmosphere due to their inertness.

Limitations of Mendeléev’s classification

  • No fixed position could be assigned to hydrogen in the Periodic Table.
  • Isotopes discovered long after Mendeléev periodic classification of
elements imparted a challenge to Mendeleev’s Periodic Law.
  • The atomic masses of elements did not increase in a steady manner while going from one element to other which made it difficult to predict the number of elements that could be discovered between two elements.
