Utkarsh Soni 4 years, 10 months ago (7393510)

He was an honest teacher. He did not blame his students alone for poor learning. He also held himself responsible for the same. He was very patriotic as he appealed to his countrymen to hold fast to their mother tongue to be free from the Prussians. For 30 words

Utkarsh Soni 4 years, 10 months ago (7393510)

M. Hamel is a strict disciplinarian at a school in a village in the French districts of Alsace and Lorraine. M. Hamel is an experienced teacher who has been teaching in that village school for forty years. He imparts primary education in all subjects. He is a hard taskmaster and students like Franz, who are not good learners, are in great dread of being scolded by him. He loves his profession from the bottom of his heart and holds a deep sense of respect for the mother tongue. The latest order of the Prussian conquerors upset him. He has to leave the place forever and feels heartbroken. He feels sad but exercises selfcontrol. He has the courage to hear every lesson to the last. This thought completely shatters a calm and composed man like M. Hamel. He tries his level best to remain calm and unruffled but breaks down at the end. His performance during the last lesson is exemplary. He is kind even to a latecomer like Franz. He uses a solemn and gentle tone while addressing the students. He has a logical mind and can analyse problems and deduce the reasons responsible for it. He feels grief-stricken at the fact that people became indifferent to learning French. He charms them to keep their language alive. Hamel is a patriot in the real sense. He regards the mother tongue to be a means of holding one’s identity and self-respect. He knows the emotional hold of a language over its users. He is a good communicator and explains everything patiently. Partings are painful and being human, M. Hamel too is no exception. He fails to say goodbye as his throat is choked. ‘Good teachers are rarity. M.Hamel is an exception to rarity!

Ayush Juyal 4 years, 10 months ago (10297084)

This chapter highlights on the importance of the policy of "Forgive and Forget" in maintaining good, strong and cordial relationships with others especially with ones of your own blood. One should be able to forgive every small mistake the other commits rather than becoming angry and quarelling with them. Hope it helps you!!!!!

An atom consists of heavy positively charged nucleus. The whole mass of the atom is concentrated in the nucleus. The electrons in an atom revolve around the nucleus in definite circular paths called orbits or energy level. Each energy level is associated with definite amount of energy.  The change in energy takes place when electron jumps from one energy level to another energy level.
