When 5% alkaline potassium permanganate solution is added drop by drop to propanol taken in the test tube, then its purple colour disappears as it oxidizes the propanol to its respective carboxylic acid i.e. propanoic acid. It is because alkaline potassium permanganate is known to be a strong oxidizing agent , which oxidizes the primary alcohol- propanol to propanal and then finally to propanoic acid. Chemical equation: alk. KMnO4 CH3CH3CH2OH ----->CH3CH3CH2COOH

Isotope has same atomic number but different mass number eg: types of hydrogen isobar has same mass number but different atomic number

Janhvi Dwivedi 4 years, 10 months ago (9179628)

Isotopes are variants of a particular chemical element which differ in neutron number, and consequently in nucleon number. All isotopes of a given element have the same number of protons but different numbers of neutrons in each atom. Isobars are atoms of different chemical elements that have the same number of nucleons. Correspondingly, isobars differ in atomic number but have the same mass number. An example of a series of isobars would be ⁴⁰S, ⁴⁰Cl, ⁴⁰Ar, ⁴⁰K, and ⁴⁰Ca.

Maanya Gupta 4 years, 10 months ago (10908995)

Isotope are those atoms who have different mass numbers but same atomic number while isobars are those atoms who have different atomic number but mass number is same Isotopes are atoms of Same element but isobars are atoms of different elements

I mean Anshika.

Adithya Dev A 4 years, 10 months ago (10643926)

According to Nelson Mandela, a courageous man is not a person who does not feel afraid, but one who can defeat and uproot his fear, whatever it is. From his senior comrades in the South African Freedom Struggle (Chief Luthuli, Yusuf Dadoo, Bram Fischer, Robert Sobukwe, etc.), he learnt that courage is not the absence of fear but the triumph over it. Isn't this what you require, Akshita.
