A. Lencho in his cornfield.

B. Lencho waiting for rain.

C. Hailstorm destroying Lencho’s crop field.

D. Faith in God must be boundless which is depicted in this picture where Lencho hands over a letter to God with a hope that God will listen to a prayer written on a piece of paper. In return, God stretches His hand to receive the letter which shows how compassionate and merciful He is towards His creations. No hand helps better than God’s and if God’s hand is there then we don’t need anyone else’s.

E. Postmaster collects money, however partial and delivers the money to Lencho with a note signed as ‘God’.

F. Disappointed Lencho writes a letter to God again to send the money directly to him, because he doesn’t trust the credibility of the Post office officials whom he blames to have stolen 30 pesos.

Prairies are flat, fertile lands dominated by grasses. Prairie grasses, like these in the U.S. state of Colorado, hold soil firmly in place, so erosion is minimal. Prairie grass roots are very good at reaching water more than a meter deep, and they can live for a very long time.

The process of synthesis of food in green plants is called photosynthesis. This process takes place in the cells containing the green pigment chlorophyll. The raw materials for this process are water, carbon dioxide and sunlight. Water and minerals present in the soil are absorbed by the roots and transported to the leaves. Carbon dioxide from air is taken in through the stomata present on the leaf surface. During photosynthesis, chlorophyll containing cells of leaves, in the presence of sunlight, use carbon dioxide and water to synthesise carbohydrates. The process can be represented as an equation:
