The psychiatrist of Charley called him having a waking-dream-wish-fulfilment. Since the Third Level was all his fantasy, his wife Louisa too asked him not to look for the Third Level anymore. The narrator took to stamp collecting. One day while looking through his worthy collection, Charley noticed a “first day cover” which he believed not to have seen before. This cover was addressed to his grandfather and mailed to him at his home in Galesburg. It was on July 18, 1894. Definitely his grandfather must have put it in his collection and the same must be lying there since long. Since it was a “first day cover”, consequently, it was not opened.
There was a blank paper in it. By chance Charley opened it. On opening it was found that it had a letter from Sam. He had reached Galesburg and was living very happily. He had found the place very charming, peaceful and serene. It was also written in the letter that Charley should come to Galesburg and look for the Third Level. In other words, the letter appeared to be Charley's imagination like his escape into the Third Level. The psychiatrist too had warned him that his stamp collection was a mode of escaping into the past.

Franz entered the school. He noticed many unusual things in the school. It was all so still, calm and quiet like Sunday morning. The whole school looked strange and solemn. There was no hustle and bustle. The rapping of the teacher’s ruler on the table was not heard. The voice of the students repeating the lessons and the opening and closing of the desks was not heard. It was quite unusual and surprising.

The government by selling its stake in public sector or joint sector enterprise is termed as disinvestment. This leads to privatisation. But the government should unload shares of only inefficient enterprises and the money received should be utilised for productive investment.

The map on the wall shows beautiful rivers, mountains and valleys whereas the world of the slum children only consists of dim lanes covered with a lead sky. The beautiful world of the map is unknown to them. So the map just tempts them without giving them an opportunity to live in the real world.

There are no advantage s of dieting. Science has proved that dieting causes many physical and mental problems. Your physique can even become worse than before. Some of the pitfalls of dieting are:
(a ) Hair loss: The most common side effect of dieting is that you start to lose your hair. Lack of required amount of proteins and fats results in hair loss.
(b) Depression: There are many other reasons of depression" Dieting is one among them. When your body is not able to handle loads of activities, you feel pressure in mind which causes stress. Stress worsens the mental as well as the physical health of a person.
(c) Organs damage: If you continue dieting for a long time it can damage your internal organs and body systems. Its working efficiency decreases. Your blood circulation becomes passive. You are less energetic,lazy,lethargic and get weak.
(d) Sudden weight gain: Weight loss through exercises is a good thing but weight loss through dieting is very harmful. It makes your physique worse because after dieting when you came to your original eating pattern your body starts gaining more fat than it used to before dieting.
(e) Dietary deficiency: When you cut short your diet, some of the major nutrients such as carbohydrates and proteins do not meet the required amount. This can lead to many deficiencies e.g., there are dark circles under eyes and the person looks pale.
(f) Miscellaneous: Yet another pitfall of dieting is cognition impairment, sudden weight loss because of reducing the calorie intake can lead to exhaustion. Comparing oneself with others and going for self-dieting may lead to starvation. People think that skipping a meal saves calories but end up with health problems.

Character of Franz
Franz was a very young boy living in Alsace district of France. He had a layman's attitude to studies. At the beginning we find him feeling tempted to skive his school. However, we also come to know his inner strength of character when he overcomes that temptation.
We come to know his patriotism and love for his teacher after he comes to know about the sad news of the new order according to which teaching of French had to be replaced with German. He is shocked to know that that was M. Hamel's last lesson.
We see him getting remorseful for having ignored learning French. He wants to learn all the French in just one period. He is very sad at the departure of his teacher.

Question: The instantaneous value of current in an A.C. circuit is I = 2 sin[100πt + (π/3)]A. The current will be maximum for the first time at,
Solution:
t = (1/600) sec
Explanation:
I = 2 sin[100πt + (π/3)]
Given current will be maximum. Here Imax is given to be 2A
∴ I = Imax = 2A
∴ 2 = 2 sin[100πt + (π/3)]
∴ 1 = sin[100πt + (π/3)]
∴ 100 πt (π/3) = (π/2)
100 πt = (π/6)
∴ t = (1/600) sec

Franz was a student in one of the schools in the districts of Alsace. Having a poor family set up, the boy was often asked to work in some mill for earning some money. But the family could not pay due attention towards his education, so the boy loved outside environment and wanted to enjoy it. In the school too, he often loved to work in the garden. He became fond of shirking from work and used to put off his learning as well as home task. But he was much scared of his teacher M. Hamel.
In addition to this, the boy had an acute sense of understanding, feeling, recognition and respect. Entering the school, he sensed unusualness and calmness there. He was much surprised at this and was rather troubled to know that his teacher was leaving them because of an order from Berlin had banned the teaching of French. During the writing period, he noticed sad expressions over the face of M. Hamel. When the teacher taught a lesson in grammar, it left an indelible impression on the boy. He felt that the teacher was going to pour everything in their minds. Then the teacher wrote on the blackboard ‘Long Live France’. The boy was deeply moved and he recognised his teacher for his worth. Thus Franz had all the senses of head and heart.
