The Rattrap man happens to get refuge for a night shelter at the Ramsjo Iron works. By chance the owner mistakes him as an old acquaintance and inuites to spend for the Christmas eve but the Rattrap declines his offer. The ironmaster sends his daughter Edla to bring and persuade the mar at their house. Haring milk of human kindness flowing in her body, she finds the peddler in a very miserable condition through her kind, considerate and persuasive power, she gets success in taking the peddler alongwith her. She promises to him to leave as and when he desires. Being a perfect host, she takes every care to make her guest feel comfortable at home. She is a practical and fine observer of people. She immediately tells her father that the peddler seems to be both an uneducated and thief. But the father points out that the stranger will be fine after properly dressed.

When the truth is known, the ironmaster becomes ugly and threatens to call the shrieft. He orders to peddler to leave away at once. But Edla intercedes for the vagabond and lets her father concede for his proper stay till the Christmas Eve. She is against chasing away a person whom they have invited for a promised “Christman Cheer”. Her persuasive powers make the stranger surrender to her wish. She is happy when the peddler leaves for her with a Christmas present and a thirsty kroner note. In his letter to Edla, he thanks for being so, nice to him. He finally thanks her saving him from falling into the “world’s rattrap”. It is thus, the love and understanding brings out a basic human goodness in the peddler.

William O. Douglas was born in 1898 at Maine. After graduating he adopted the profession of teaching but he soon got tired of this job and adopted the legal career. He served in the court as a justice for a longer period of life. Since childhood he had a mind for swimming but he got aversion for water when a wave swept over and buried him. On the second occassion at the age of ten or eleven, a big burly boy tossed him up and threw deep in the pool that created stark fear in his mind. He made three attempts but every time he went down deeper and deeper. He became unconscious when he got up he was vomiting beside the pool.

The terror of water followed him wherever he went. To get rid of it, he made a strong determination. He decided to overcome his fear through his ‘will’. He engaged an instructor who perfected Douglas in swimming. He gave him hundreds of exercises and taught him to exhale and inhale in water. The practice went on for three months and Douglas was able to recede his terror. Then after more exercises, the instructor ordered him to dive himself. He swam across and back the lake. He was now completely out of fear. He stated that a fear is nothing but all we have to fear is fear itself. Its reality it is the “will to live” that removes all our fears, terrors, troubled and difficulties in case we struggle hard and make a strong determination to materialize it.

Trangenic animals are the animals with the modified genome. A foreign gene is inserted into the genome of the animal to alter its DNA. This method is done to improve the genetic traits of the target animal.

Initially, the improvement of genetic traits was done by selective breeding methods. In this, the animals with desired genetic characteristics were mated to produce an individual with improved genetic characteristics. Since this technique was time-consuming and expensive, it was later replaced by recombinant DNA technology.

With time, manufacturers have looked into three aspects of packaging, viz. weight and thickness of the packaging material, the effect on the environment of the packaging material and the cost of packaging.
As transportation cost goes up, manufacturers are making the weight of packed material lower per unit, hence cardboard cartons are replacing wooden crates. One other reason is cardboard boxes are made from waste or recycled paper; on the other hand, trees have to be felled for making wooden crates.
Tetra packs are not breakable like glass, they are also an aseptic form of packaging that can store milk for longer periods of time without getting spoilt. Vending machines store plenty of milk, which can cater to a lot of people; installation of these machines has also removed the packaging cost altogether.
Plastic doors and windows are lighter and last long, unlike wooden ones which get spoilt due to sun and rain. Use of plastic for making doors and windows also does away with wanton felling of trees for wood.
Cardboard is made from recycled paper and extensive use of this material for packaging helps save use of other non bio-degradable material; compared to heavier material like wood or metal, cardboard is a lot lighter.
Pyramid packaging replacing square or rectangular shaped packaging helps in storing more packages in any given space.
Customers today are asked to pay the cost of plastic carry bags to dissuade them from using such bags which affect the environment as they are not bio-degradable.
Earlier brown paper bags were used as packaging material. To make things attractive plastic bags were introduced. But, as civilisation became conscious of the ill effects of plastic, items like cloth was introduced for packaging or carrying material.
Advertisers use packaging very intelligently and aesthetically, so that the product attracts the attention of prospective customers over other products in the same category. The packaging material, the written words, the shape and size etc are all micromanaged at the time of launching a new product.

Nitrogen with n = 2 has s and p orbitals only. If does not have d orbitals to expand its valence shell. That is why it does not form pentahalide.

The First Five-Year Plan was one of the most important, because it had a great role in the launching of Indian development after Independence. Thus, it strongly supported agriculture production and also launched the industrialization of the country (but less than the Second Plan, which focused on heavy industries). Stalin believed that the Soviet Union had to build up its industry so it could defend itself from attack by countries in the west. Stalin wanted to modernise factories in the Soviet Union to increase the amount of goods produced.

The things of beauty mentioned above include a quiet bower, peaceful sleep and quiet breathing. 2. The phrase 'pass into nothingness' means it will never cease to exist but will continue to have a lasting impression. According to John Keats a thing of beauty is a joy of forever. It is a constant source of happiness and pleasure. Its loveliness increases every moment. It will never pass into nothingness.

As per the WHO -World Health Organization, reproductive health can be defined as the total well-being and proper functioning of reproductive organs in all phases of reproduction. This includes a complete state of mental, physical, and social well-being.

There are a number of programs which are directed for maintaining reproductive health. These programs include both small ads and few entertainment shows telecasted on the television for promoting safe sexual habits and awareness about various sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). All these efforts by the government and NGOs aim at achieving a reproductively healthy society.

Dear Editor,
I am writing this letter to bring your attention to the growing nuisance of auto drivers overcharging in our area. We live in a remote corner from town and the auto drivers always ask for a return fare. I have also noticed that a lot of times the fare from my office to home is different even though the time taken/traffic is almost the same. I need you to raise this concern in your newspaper and also have more traffic inspectors in our area to monitor these auto drivers and have them fined in case they over charge.

thanks ,

  1. Muscle strength: The muscle should have a minimum level of strength to make the movement, especially against the gravity or external force.
  2. Joint structure: There are different types of joint in the human body, some of the joints intrinsically have a greater range of motion than others for example. The ball & socket joint of the shoulder has the greatest range of motion in comparison to the knee joint.
  3. Internal environment:- Internal environment of athlete influences the flexibility. For example-warm bath increases body temperature and flexibility whereas 10 minutes outside stay in 100c temperature reduces the body temperature and flexibility.
  4. Injury: Injuries to connecting tissues and muscles can lead to thickening or fibronectin on the effected area. Fibrous tissues are less elastic and can lead to limb shortening and lead to reduce flexibility.
  5. Age and gender: Flexibility decreases with the advancement of age. However, it is trainable. It can be enhanced with the help of training as strength and endurance are enhanced. Gender also determine the flexibility. Females tend to be more flexible than male.
