In the case of contemporary employment, the current prevailing situation in India is that there is lack of employment.

The issue of unemployment has existed in India for a long time now.

There have been increasing issues for the youth who graduate from good universities but go out into the market which is making people redundant.

There would be issues for reservation in such cases.

Reservation is the case, where the Indian government chooses a certain gender. Example, giving jobs to men over women due to personal gains. This affects the growth system in an economy

The proportion of GDP contributed by the industrial sector increased in the period from 11.8 per cent in 1950-51 to 24.6 percent in 1990-91. The rise in the industry's share of GDP is an important indicator of development. The six per cent annual growth rate of the industrial sector during the period is commendable. This policy envisaged mixed economy wherein public and private sector would coexist. It underlined the need for increased state participation in industrial progress. It called for assistance to small-scale industries and welcomed foreign capital.

The Constitution abolished untouchability and introduced the reservation provisions. The 1989 Prevention of Atrocities Act revised and strengthened the legal provisions punishing acts of violence or humiliation against Dalits and adivasis. The fact that legislation was passed repeatedly on this subject is proof of the fact that the law alone cannot end a social practice. State action alone cannot ensure social change. No social group however weak or oppressed is only a victim. Human beings are always capable of organizing and acting on their own –often against very heavy odds to struggle for justice and dignity. Dalits too have been increasingly active on the political, agitational and cultural fronts.

Social exclusion is a form of discrimination. It occurs when people are wholly or partially excluded from participating in the economic, social and political life of their community, based on their belonging to a certain social class, category or group. In India, social exclusion occurs on the basis of identities including caste, ethnicity, religion, gender and disability.

The three features of social exclusion

Social exclusion as a concept has three distinguishable features:

  1. It involves culturally-defined social categories, with associated cultural perceptions, values and norms that shape social interaction.
  2. It is embedded in social relations.
  3. It affects people’s rights and entitlements, denying them the opportunities they need to attain and maintain a universally acceptable standard of living and to fulfil their potential.

Cut throat competition and consumerism are the banes of the fast-paced modern life born out of advancement in science and technology. Everyone is busy and focused to secure a career and bright future for themselves. In this business, everyone seems to have forgotten the basic morality and ethics.

It must be kept in mind, if are means are wrong, our ends can never be right. Competition and consumerism can never bring anyone one is seeking. The most valuable treasure in this world is peace, health, and happiness. They can be had only through righteousness. Competition and consumerism are antithesis peace, health, and happiness.

So, the most ideal approach to live a great life should be doing one’s best without compromising with morals and ethics. One must never do mean things, think mean thoughts, and speak mean words of any type. The outcome will always be grand if one’s thoughts, words, and acts are grand.
