Mutant haemoglobin undergoes polymerization under low oxygen tension which causes change in its shape.

Gaurav Seth 4 years, 10 months ago

In normal conditions, RBCs are Biconcave disc- like. Sickle cell anemia is a group of disorders which comes under the sickle cell disease. It is an autosomal recessive disease therefore it can be transmitted from parents of the offspring when both female and male individuals are carriers for the gene. The disease is controlled by a single pair of alleles, Hband HbS. Thus, three genotypes are possible in this situation:
- HbA Hb(normal homozygous) - HbA Hb(normal carrier) - HbA HbS Hb(diseased, die before attaining maturity)
Heterozygous (HbA HbS) individuals appear unaffected but they are carriers of the disease as there is a 50% probability of transmission of the mutant gene to the progeny, thus exhibiting sickle cell trait.
The disease or defect is caused by a mutation (transversion) of the gene controlling the β-chain of hemoglobin. It replaces glutamic acid (Glu) present at the 6th position of the β-chain by amino acid Valine (Val) . The mutant hemoglobin molecules undergo polymerization under low oxygen tension causing the change in the shape of RBCs from biconcave to elongated sickle- like (curve) structure.

1) Federalism

This refers to the existence of more than one level of government in the country. In India, we have governments at the state level, at the centre and Panchayati Raj at the village level. The Constitution contains lists that detail the issues that each tier of government can make laws on. In addition, the Constitution also specifies where each tier of government can get the money from, for the work that it does. All persons in India are governed by laws and policies made by each of these levels of government.

2) Parliamentary Form of Government

The people of India have a direct role in electing their representatives. Also, every citizen of the country, irrespective of his/her social background, can contest in elections.

3) Separation of Powers

There are 3 organs of government:

  1. The legislature: refers to elected representatives by the people.
  2. The executive: is a smaller group of people who are responsible for implementing laws and running the government.
  3. The judiciary: refers to the system of courts in India.

Each organ mentioned above acts as a check on the other organs of government. This ensures the balance of power between all three.

Current assets =4,10,000
Current assets after payment of 50,000 : 4,10,000 - 30,000(Cash Given) =  Rs3,80,000 .
As current ratio 2.4 and current assets are Rs 3,80,000
Current Ratio = Current Assets/Current liabilities
Therefore, Current liabilities =3,80,000/2.4 = 158333
Working capital = current assets - current liabilities = 3,80,000 - 1,58,333 =      Rs 221667
