Business ethics can be defined as the code of conduct that a business must follow, such that it takes up only those activities that are desirable from the viewpoint of society. The purpose of business ethics is to guide managers and other employees in an organisation in performing their jobs in a manner that is socially acceptable.

In other words, business ethics is the study of appropriate business policies and practices regarding potentially controversial subjects including corporate governance, insider trading, bribery, discrimination, corporate social responsibility, and fiduciary responsibilities.

For example, Company XYZ sells cereals with all-natural ingredients. The marketing department wants to use the all-natural ingredients as a selling point, but it must temper enthusiasm for the product versus the laws that govern labelling practices.

Business ethics should be followed in the day-to-day working of a business enterprise. The following are some of the elements of business ethics.

  1. Commitment by top management: Top-level officers, such as the CEO's and other higher-level managers, must sincerely follow the ethical code of conduct. They should also guide other employees in their organisation in adopting the code.
  2. Publication of a 'code': An enterprise must clearly define the ethical code of conduct to be followed in the organisation. The code should include quality standards for work, laws governing production and employee's health and safety standards.
  3. Establishment of compliance mechanism: In addition to setting performance standards, an enterprise must also devise a mechanism through which it can measure the actions of individual employees.
  4. Involvement of employees at all levels: The successful implementation of ethical standards depends to a large extent on the involvement of employees at different levels. This is because it is the employees who actually implement ethical codes.
  5. Measurement of results: Although it is difficult to measure the end results of the implementation of ethical standards, the top management should take steps to monitor compliance.

This is due to the fact that bubbles store within them relatively more air than soap material. Besides, the color of the natural light is white. What we actually see is the reflection of the natural light in the bubble, which is white.

Goodwill is an intangible asset associated with the purchase of one company by another. Specifically, goodwill is recorded in a situation in which the purchase price is higher than the sum of the fair value of all identifiable tangible and intangible assets purchased in the acquisition and the liabilities assumed in the process. The value of a company’s brand name, solid customer base, good customer relations, good employee relations, and any patents or proprietary technology represent some examples of goodwill.

Goodwill is a company’s value that exceeds its assets minus its liabilities. In other words, goodwill shows that a business has value beyond its actually physical assets and liabilities. This value can be created from the excellence of management, customer loyalty, brand recognition, favorable location, or even the quality of employees. Anything that adds value to the company beyond its excess assets over liabilities is considered goodwill.

Green algae are autotrophic organisms, i.e. they synthesise their own food with the help of photosynthesis. At deepest layers of ocean, light is absent. So, photosynthesis does not take place there, and hence, green algae are not found in deep strata.

Madhukar Dutt Tripathi 6 years, 7 months ago

Red light travels more dustance than brown light. So the access to the algal growth would be easy for red light. Which , therefore , points towards the presence of red algae amongst the two forms.

There are so many times in our lives when we find ourselves stuck in the middle with no way out. If we decide to live and follow our intuition, we get so wrapped up in what “could” happen and get afraid thinking about all the fears associated with taking risks. On some subconscious level, we think that by facing our fear, we will die. In our fear-based thoughts, risk equals death. However, if we face the fear with strong mind and heart, we can easily overcome it and live a fearless life. The lesson, "Deep Water" effectively highlights this fact through the character of Douglas. Douglas had developed an aversion to water as a child. His aversion grew stronger when he was thrown into a pool at the age of 11 or 12 by a bully. His fear haunted him till later in his life and deprived him of joy. But he couldn't stand living a fearful life. So he summoned courage, hired an instructor and mastered the art of swimming. He himself overcame the residual thoughts about his fear by swimming across Lake Wentworth. He had experienced both the sensation of dying and the terror that fear of it can produce, but his strong determination and willpower helped him overcome his fear and live a fearless life later on. He realised that all he had to fear was the fear itself, not death. Hence, if we surrender to our fears, they overpower us; if we face them, they fade away.

See a gene results in polypeptide formation. Now, a complete polypeptide might not be formed from a small part of DNA at certain location, hence for that polypeptide, a complete gene wouldn't be available in one single piece. Also, with evolution and introduction of poly istronic way, it becomes difficult to define a complete gene.
