Considering the tender age of Jo, both the endings seem a little irrational. In Roger Skunk's story 'Should Wizard Hit Mommy' we can note that it provides two possible endings. In the first ending, Roger Skunk is made to smell like roses by the Wizard through his magical wand. He should retain the same smell as he needs the company of other animals to play with them. But his mother is deeply enraged at this 'awful smell' It is certain that Jo will be learning from whatever she hears and visualizes at this age. If the story ends according to Jack, Jo will never be able to question anything she considers wrong in life since this ending stresses that elders are always right in whatever they do. In addition, the story shows the Skunk’s Mommy hitting the wizard for no fault of his. The wizard does what he is asked to. This may scare the four-years-old Jo, as it teaches that mothers, being elders, have the right to hit anyone, even if they are not at fault.
On the contrary, if the story ends as Jo wanted it to, it will stop her from believing in and respecting her elders. She may even start believing that there is nothing wrong in hitting elders. A balanced view may be given in an apt ending where the mommy either does not hit the wizard at all or realizes her mistake soon.

- Considering the Graph (1) the Cu2O line is at the top.
- So to reduce oxide ores of copper directly to the metal by heating with coke (both the lines of C, CO and C, CO2 are at much lower positions in the graph particularly after 500 – 600K).
- Most of the ores are sulphide and some may also contain iron. The sulphide ores
- are roasted/smelted to give oxides:
- 2Cu2S + 3O2 → 2Cu2O + 2SO2
- The oxide can then be easily reduced to metallic copper using coke:
- Cu2O + C → 2 Cu + CO
- In actual process, the ore is heated in a reverberatory furnace after mixing with silica. In the furnace, iron oxide ‘slags of’ as iron silicate and copper is produced in the form of copper matte. This contains Cu2S and FeS.
- FeO + SiO2 → FeSiO3 (Slag)
- Copper matte is then charged into silica lined convertor.
- Some silica is also added and hot air blast is blown to convert the remaining
- FeS2, FeO and Cu2S/Cu2O to the metallic copper.
- Following reactions take place:
- 2FeS + 3O2 → 2FeO + 2SO2
- FeO + SiO2 → FeSiO3 (6.38)
- 2Cu2S + 3O2 → 2Cu2O + 2SO2
- 2Cu2O + Cu2S → 6Cu + SO2
- The solidified copper obtained has blistered appearance due to the evolution of SO2 and so it is called blister copper.
- Following reactions take place:
- FeS2, FeO and Cu2S/Cu2O to the metallic copper.

Average life or mean life (τ) of a radioactive element is the ratio of total life time of all the atoms and total number of atoms present initially in the sample.
Relation between average life and decay constant τ = 1 / λ
Relation between half-life and average life τ = 1.44 T
The number of atoms left undecayed after n half-lifes is given by
N = No (1 / 2)n = No (1 / 2) t/T
where, n = t / T, here t = total time.

- The Pallavas emerged as a formidable power in the South around the 4th century AD and were at the height of their power in the seventh century AD. They were able to sustain their rule for about 500 years. They built great cities, centres of learning, temples and sculptures and influenced a large part of Southeast Asia in culture.
- The origins of the Pallavas are shrouded in mystery. There are several theories propounded by historians.
- Some historians say they are a branch of the Pahlavas of the Parthians who moved to the South.
- Some say they are an indigenous dynasty that arose within the Southern region and were a mix of various tribes.
- Some experts believe them to be of Naga origin who first settled around the Tondaimandalam region near Madras.
- Another theory says that they are descendent from a Chola prince and a Naga princess of Manipallavam (an island off Jaffna, Sri Lanka).
- Some others are of the opinion that the Pallavas were feudatories of the Satavahanas.
- The first Pallava kings ruled during the beginning of the 4th century AD. By the 7th century AD, there were three kingdoms in southern India vying for supremacy namely the Chalukyas of Badami, the Pandyas of Madurai and the Pallavas of Kanchipuram.

Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) earlier known as National Revolutionary Party was founded in 1929 and exercised power in Mexico for almost six decades. It represented the legacy of the Mexican Revolution. Originally, PRI consisted of various interests including political and military leaders, labour and peasant organisations and numerous political parties. Over a period of time, the founder of PRI, Plutarco Elias Calles captured the organisation and in this manner the government too.
- Elections were held at regular intervals, and it was the PRI which won every time.
- Other parties existed in name only so as to give the ruling party greater legitimacy.
- The electoral laws were operated in a manner so as to ensure that the PRI always won.
- Elections were often rigged and manipulated by the ruling party.
- Its rule was described as ‘the perfect dictatorship’.
- Finally, the party lost in the Presidential Elections held in 2000.
Mexico was no longer a one-party dominated country. However, the tactics adopted by the PRI during the period of its dominance had a long-term effect on the health of democracy. The citizens have yet to develop full confidence in the system of democracy and the fair nature of elections.

The Maharaja of Pratibandapuram had many titles but was popularly known as the ''Tiger King''. He was portrayed as an autocrat, brave, resolute, determined, courageous and a firm ruler of his state. He was brought up by an English governess. He was tutored in English by an Englishman. When he grew to twenty, he took the reign in his hands. The Maharaja knew how to make his minions do the work for him. No one in the kingdom had the courage to raise his voice against the king.
When he was born, the astrologers had predicted his death by a tiger. His callousness came through his indiscriminate killing of tigers and almost bringing the species to become extinct, just to prove the prophecy wrong. His irrational behavior was portrayed when he announced that he would attend to the affairs of his people and state, only after killing a hundred tigers. He wanted to prove the prophecy wrong that his death was bound to come because of a tiger. He was determined to fulfill his pledge. So he issued a proclamation that no one will kill the tiger except him. The lawbreakers would be taken to task and their properties would be confiscated. Being a man of firm determination and self-respect, he denied permission to the British officer to hunt the tiger too. But, the officer felt offended as he was not even allowed to kill or even, to take a photograph with a dead tiger. To save himself and his kingdom, the king, with the advice of his Dewan, sent around fifty exclusive diamond rings for the officer's wife. He did so to impress them but had to pay a hefty amount because the British officer's wife kept all the rings and sent only a thank you note for the king. It is ironical that the king met his fate by a wooden tiger only and thus the hundredth tiger took revenge upon him.
