Knowledge of nature is important to develop technology which slowly loosens the shackles of environment on man. Human beings are better able to develop technology after they develop better understanding of natural laws. When the level of technology is low the stage of human development is primitive. Man adapts to the dictates of nature (Environmental Determinism).
With social and cultural development, human beings begin to understand nature, develop more efficient technology and move from a state of necessity to a state of freedom.

An azeotropic compound is a mixture of two substances which distil at the same temperature. An azeotrope is a mixture of compounds with the same composition in the vapour as in the liquid. In other words, an azeotrope is a liquid mixture that has a constant boiling point and whose vapour has the same composition as the liquid. Several compounds, such as toluene, benzene, and cyclohexane, form suitable azeotropes with water.

The relationship between the man and the environment has been established in the early periods itself. Human beings live in the kingdom of nature and interact with it constantly. The influence of nature in the form of the air he breathes, the water he drinks, the food he eats, and the flow of energy and information. Man is the species that most modifies environments and is responsible for the alteration and destruction of ecosystems. The destruction of habitats is the primary cause of the loss of environments and species extinction.
