Lami’s Theorem states, “When three forces acting at a point are in equilibrium, then each force is proportional to the sine of the angle between the other two forces”. Referring to the above diagram, consider three forces A, B, C acting on a particle or rigid body making angles α, β and γ with each other.
In the mathematical or equation form, it is expressed as,
{tex}\frac{A}{sin\alpha} = \frac{B}{sin\beta} = \frac{C}{sin\gamma}{/tex}

M = n/V
Here,
M is the molality of the solution that is to be calculated
n is the number of moles of the solute

This line is extracted from the famous story by Mr. Kushwant Singh- The Portrait of a lady. This is the description of the his grandmother in the story. This lines elaborates the physical attributes of the old lady. The writer in these lines focuses on the face of the lady. This line can be explained as:
The lady's "silver locks" is representative of her old age and experience of a lifetime. So, she gave less attention to form of her hair and did not care about her looks. Moving on, "pale and puckered face" portrays the grandmothers face which was light in complexion and filled with wrinkles. Later, after these lines, the writer calls her grandmother as a "winter landscape in the mountains" which denotes a emotional implication rather than literary.

Anil does not hand over the thief to the police because he realized that Hari had learnt his lesson and had changed for the better. Otherwise, he would never have come back and kept the money at the same place from where he had stolen it. Anil even knew how Hari cheated him of a rupee a day while buying the day’s supplies. But he never said anything to him. This is such a case where most people would have handed him over to the police. Anil was different from such employers because he was a modest and trusting man. He had offered to teach Hari how to cook and also to educate him. When he found out that Hari had stolen the money, but had kept it back, he knew that it was Hari’s conscience that had made him do so. Hari could have easily run off with the money, but he did not. This made Anil give him another chance and build him into a better person that he could already see him becoming.

The Mantle
- The portion of the interior beyond the crust is called the mantle.
- It is in a solid state.
- It has a density higher than the crust portion.
- The thickness ranges from 10-200 km.
- The mantle extends from Moho’s discontinuity to a depth of 2,900 km.
- The asthenosphere is the upper portion of Mantle.
- It is the chief source of magma that finds its way to the surface during volcanic eruptions.
- The crust and the uppermost part of the mantle are called lithosphere.
- The major constituent elements of the mantle are Silicon and Magnesium and hence it is also termed as SIMA
The Core
- The core-mantle boundary is positioned at the depth of 2,900 km.
- The inner core is in the solid state whereas the outer core is in the liquid state.
- The core is made up of very heavy material mostly constituted by nickel and iron. Hence it is also called the “nife” layer.
