A protic acid is one which can ionise in solution to produce proton or hydronium ion. It is not protic acids since it does not ionise in H2O to give a proton.
Boric acid is not a protic acid. It accepts a pair of electron from OH- ion of water and acts as a lewis acid
B(OH)3 +2H20  →[B(OH)4]-+H3O+

Ankit Singh 6 years, 11 months ago

According to their theories , a protonic acid is a species which donate a proton i.e. ... But boric acid do not donate H+ rather it accepts an electron pair from the solution or the donor i.e. an OH-.

Because both boron and chlorine are of small size and also of comparable size with each other , hence due to almost comparable size bond formed is more stable , as compared to bond foed between Thallium and chlorine where size/radius difference is more, hence in case of thallium weaker bond is formeand less stable.

Ankit Singh 6 years, 11 months ago

bcl3 is stable while ticl3 is unstable . Boron and thallium belong to group 13 of the periodic table. In this group, the +1 oxidation state becomes more stable on moving down the group. BCl 3 is more stable than TlCl 3 because the +3 oxidation state of B is more stable than the +3 oxidation state of Tl. Please confirm that my answer is correct .......

Water gas is produced from synthesis gas, which is composed of carbon monoxide and hydrogen. Syngas is a useful product, but requires careful handling due to its flammability and the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. The water-gas shift reaction can be used to reduce the carbon monoxide while producing additional hydrogen, resulting in water gas.

H2O + C → H2 + CO (ΔH = +131 kJ/mol)

Carbon cannot have a valency beyond four
C6 =  1s22s22p2
While silicon can extended covalency from 4 to 6
Si14 = 1s22s22p63s23p2
This is because of the absence of d-orbitals in the valence shell of carbon and presence of 3d-orbtials in the valence shell of silicon. Since silicon has vacant 3d- orbitals, it can accept electrons from electron donating species such as F- ion to form complex ion.

Catenation is the linkage of atoms of the same element into longer chains. Catenation occurs most readily in carbon, which forms covalent bonds with other carbon atoms to form longer chains and structures.

The difference between the specific heat of a gas at constant pressure( cp ) and its specific heat at constant( cv ) volume is equal to the universal gas constant(R) divided by the molecular weight(M) of the gas. i.e. cp−cv=RM .This relation is known. as Mayer's formula.

Abscisic acid is known as the stress hormone because of the following reasons :
1. It helps plant to cope with adverse environmental conditions or stresses.
2. It causes temporary closure of stomata due to which there is reduction in the rate of transpiration. Therefore, it acts as antitranspirant and reduces water loss.
3. It acts as a general growth inhibtor and inhibitor of plant metabolism.
4. It inhibits seed germination.

Answer to Question - Three social hierarchies are ★★★ CLERGY - priest, religious leaders etc. They can impose taxes and make their own laws. The head of the church was pope who lived in Rome, it was guided by bishops and clerics. No one could easily become a priest serfs were banned. Womens were not allowed. Men became monks and women became nuns, monks spent their time in praying, studying, performing manual labours like farming. They lived in Abbey monasteries. They had single *** community there were separate place for men and women. ★★ NOBILITY - aristocrats, the Lords, they owned a large plot of land and it was cultivated by peasants in exchange they provided military protection. ★ PEASANTRY - the cultivators of land, it was of two types free peasants and serfs derived from serve meaning to perform duties. The free peasants were paid they're the remnants of the land belonging to the Lord. They also performed unpaid services life gathering fire wood, digging, building fences, helping in the field. Besides women and children were engaged in fields and pressing grapes for Lords. The serfs cultivated the Lords land but produces are only meant for Lords. They're not paid, the Lord had monopolies like they can use Lords wine press for grinding wheat and can use the oven for bread.

P-WAVE: the P-wave is the fastest of all seismic waves.when an earthquake occurs ,this wave is the first to arrive at a recording station,it can travel through solids,liquids and gases.it’s speed is somehow 13–17 km/sec.

S-WAVE:the S-wave is the second fastest of all seismic waves when an earthquake occurs .it can’t travel through liquids.

RAYLEIGH-WAVE: R-wave ,it’s speed is 0.91*speed of s-wave.the particle motion is combination of the P-and SV-vibrations.the particle motion describes “retrograde ellipse” in the vertical plane.

LOVE-WAVE:L-wave is dispersive in nature,because they can only propagate in a velocity -layered medium.particle motion is SH -motion,it has high amplitude.

Rayleigh Wave is most dangerous wave because of its behaviour of rolling movements.

Mathematical reasoning is the critical skill that enables a student to make use of all other mathematical skills. With the development of mathematical reasoning, students recognize that mathematics makes sense and can be understood. They learn how to evaluate situations, select problem-solving strategies, draw logical conclusions, develop and describe solutions, and recognize how those solutions can be applied. Mathematical reasoners are able to reflect on solutions to problems and determine whether or not they make sense. They appreciate the pervasive use and power of reasoning as a part of mathematics.

Stereoisomers which are related to each other as mirror images are called enantiomers. Enantiomers can contain any number of stereogenic centers, as long as each center is the exact mirror image of the corresponding center in the other molecule.

Ayushi Ayushi 6 years, 11 months ago

Enantiomers are chiral molecules that are mirror images of one another. Furthermore, the molecules are non-superimposable on one another. This means that the molecules cannot be placed on top of one another and give the same molecule. Chiral molecules with one or more stereocenters can be enantiomers. It is sometimes difficult to determine whether or not two molecules are enantiomers. For introductory purposes, simple molecules will be used as examples.

It is the degree of responsiveness of the commodity within its own change in price.

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 11 months ago

We have been studying the impact of price on supply. However, all these definitions have been qualitative. With this in mind, the price elasticity of supply came into existence. The price elasticity of supply tackles the quantitative side of the price and supply relationship.

It refers to the degree of responsiveness of supply of a commodity with reference to change in the price of such commodity. Note that the price elasticity of supply is always positive. This happens because of the positive or direct relationship between price and supply, unlike demand.

Reason for anomalous Behaviour of boron It is extremely hard and black coloured solid. It exists in many allotropic forms. Due to very strong crystalline lattice, boron has unusually high melting point. Rest of the members are soft metals with low melting point and high electrical conductivity.
