When we solve this equation, Cr+2*(-5)=0 We get +10 which is not possible as chromium has max. Of +6 electrons .In CrO5 one oxygen is double bonded to the Cr atom and there are peroxide linkage.As we know oxygen peroxide has -1 o.s and double bond atom in -2 state Cr+5(-1)=1 Cr=+6
