Fungal-bacterial endosymbiosis encompasses the mutualistic relationship between a fungus and intracellular bacteria species residing within the fungus. A lichen is a combination of fungus and/or algae and/or cyanobacteria that has a very different form (morphology), physiology, and biochemistry than any of the constituent species growing separately. The algae or cyanobacteria benefit their fungal partner by producing organic carbon compounds through photosynthesis.

  • Unlike a departmental store in a chain store, the variety of products and the number of choices are limited
  • Individual stores become dependent on the home office and generally do not show any initiative or drive to ramp up sales
  • These stores are not well adapted to changing demand. Since they have huge inventories they may face losses if the market demand changes

Mold breaks down dead substances and deposits them back into the ecosystem. Also we eat some molds such as mushrooms. Finally, molds help us create antibiotics such as penicillin and many others. Mushrooms help to break down plant fibers such as dead leaves and wood and allow the nutrients to be released into the soil. Fungi are useful to humans because they have economic value. Some fungi, such as mushrooms and truffles, are eaten directly, and others are used to produce things of value.

The mycelia and the hyphae are both important parts of fungi, more commonly known as the mushroom. The two terms refer to the building blocks of fungi.

Hyphae (plural form; singular form is hypha) is the name of the long, individual pieces that comprise a mycelium. Hyphae are often described as strings and threadlike filaments. The hypha is the basic body plan of a fungus. It is comprised of one or more cells surrounded by a tubular cell wall.
Hyphae can be classified into categories by their cell division, by their cell wall and overall form, and by their refractive appearance. Hyphae by cell division can be further classified as septate (with septa), aseptate (without septa), and pseudohyphae. The first two classifications are considered to be “true” hyphae.

Well, the north polar ice cap would not have much effect, because it is floating sea ice. The ice caps that would matter are the Antarctica and Greenland ice caps. If they were to melt, days would get slightly longer (and there would be slightly fewer of them in a year). This is because the liquid water would distribute more evenly about the globe rather than all being near the poles, so the Earth's moment of inertia would increase. Since the Earth's angular momentum will not change, that means that its angular velocity (rate of turning) will decrease.
This is analogous to what happens on a playground carousel when a person standing near the axis moves outward: the rotation will slow.
This will be a very small change, as the mass of water in the polar ice caps is only a teeny tiny fraction of the total mass of the Earth.

By Keplers laws of planetary motion, we know that Tis proportional to R3

 Hence, T12 / R13  = T22 / R23

 (T2 / T1 )2 = (R2  / R1 )3

 By the given problem, R2 is half of R1 R2 = R1/ 2

Hence,

 (T2 / T1 )2 = (R1/ 2 R1 )3 = 1/8

Substituting T1 as 1 year

T22  = 1/8 (1)2  = 1/8 (365 days)2

T=129days
