Vector addition is the operation of adding two or more vectors together into a vector sum. The so-called parallelogram law gives the rule for vector addition of two or more vectors. For two vectors and , the vector sum is obtained by placing them head to tail and drawing the vector from the free tail to the free head.

Easy way to find out instantaneous velocity is to do differentiation of dispacement witch respect to time that is: V=dx/dt

Ranjeet Kumar 6 years, 5 months ago

Instantaneous velocity is a useful tool to determine velocity at any point or any time for a body in non uniform motion. For example, average velocity in a fixed time interval is given by,<v> = Δχ/Δt where Δχ is the distance covered in time interval Δt.When Δt becomes infinitesimaly small,it gives the instantaneous velocity.Or, v = limΔt->0 Δχ/Δt = dx/dt by language of calculus. Now, let the displacement of a body with respect to time is given by x = t^2+2t+1.To determine the velocity at 4s, we have to determine the value of the deriviative of x w.r.t. t at t=4.Or, v(4)= [d(t^2+2t+1)/dt ]_4=[2t+2]_4 =10 m/s.

Yuvika Gupta 6 years, 5 months ago

Sorry it will be dx /dt

Yuvika Gupta 6 years, 5 months ago

By differentiating the function of position Eg- let x = 4t^2+3t+4 then velocity = dy/dx(4t^2+3t+4) = 8t+3. And time will be most probably provided in the question.

The hydrosphere is the combined mass of water found on, under, and above the surface of a planet, minor planet or natural satellite. Although the Earth's hydrosphere has been around for longer than 4 billion years, it continues to change in size. This is caused by seafloor spreading and continental drift, which rearranges the land and ocean.

  1. Hydrosphere on the earth refers to the water domain in all the states: solid, liquid and gaseous.
  2. It includes the water present in rivers, lakes, oceans, ice caps, and glaciers, etc.
  3. It extends several kilometers below and above the earth’s surface.

A^-> × B^-> = AB sinθ n^ where n^ is a unit vector perpendicular to both A^-> and B^->, and θ is the angle between A^-> and B^->. The resultant of cross product or vector product of two vectors is itself a vector, representing a right handed system.

Giffen goods are special kind of goods on which the consumers spends most of his income and their demand rises with an inrease in price and demand falls with decrease in price level. For example when the prices of jowar, bajra reduces, then the consumer tends to consumer less of those items and consume superiror goods such as wheat and rice. This is an exceptional case which is against the law of demand. This is because a fall in price of inferior goods increases the real income which reduces demand for inferior goods as consumer prefer to shift to superior goods.
