During skeletal muscle contraction, the thick filament slides over the thin filament by a repeated binding and releases of myosin head along the filament. This whole process occurs in a sequential manner.
Step 1: Muscle contraction is initiated by signals that travel along the axon and reach the neuromuscular junction or motor end plate. Neuromuscular junction is a junction between a neuron and the sarcolemma of the muscle fibre. As a result, Acetylcholine (a neurotransmitter) is released into the synaptic cleft by generating an action potential in sarcolemma.
Step 2: The generation of this action potential releases calcium ions from the sarcoplasmic reticulum in the sarcoplasm.

The temperature scales of celsius and fahrenheit are not absolute scales. By absolute we mean that they start at some reference point (freezing point of water). Hence, they are considered random scales. So, we associate a degree symbol with random scales. Similar is done with angles. On the other hand, kelvin scale is the absolute scale of temperature. It has a perfect origin. There is no temperature below the zero kelvin temperature. Hence, there is no degree symbol associated with it.

Black soils are also known as the ‘Regur Soil’ or the ‘Black Cotton Soil’. It covers most of the Deccan Plateau which includes parts of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and some parts of Tamil Nadu.

Characteristics of black soils are:
• The black soils are generally clayey, deep and impermeable.
• They swell and become sticky when wet and shrink when dried.
• The black soils are rich in lime, iron, magnesia and alumina.
• They also contain potash.
• The colour of the soil ranges from deep black to grey.

Preparation of washing soda by solvay’s process
- The Solvay process is extensively used for industrial preparation of sodium carbonate (soda ash). The process is named after Ernest Solvay who developed the process during the 1860s.
- Carbon dioxide reacts with the dissolved ammonia to form ammonium carbonate followed by ammonium hydrogen carbonate.
2NH3 +H2O + CO2→ (NH4)2CO3
(Ammonia) (Ammonium Carbonate)
(NH4)2CO3 + H2O + CO2 → NH4HCO3
(Ammonium Carbonate) (Ammonium hydrogen carbonate)
NH4HCO3 + NaCl → NH4Cl + NaHCO3
Sodium hydrogen carbonate crystal separates. These are heated to give sodium carbonate.
2 NaHCO3→ Na2CO3 + CO2 + H2O
But this process cannot be used to prepare potassium due to the high solubility of potassium bicarbonate and hence difficult to be precipitated by adding ammonium bicarbonate to a saturated solution of potassium

AFC curve is rectangular hyperbola because, AFC= TFC/Q. As TFC remains fixed at al level of output, with the rise in output, AFC fall. Since TFC is never zero, AFC curve doesnot touch horizontal axis. Thus the shape of AFC curve is rectangular hyperbola.

Paurometabolous : this development takes place gradually. The nymph stage resembles adult but have wing buds. They stay in the same place with adults and eat the same food. Different type of bugs is the example of this type of development.

A division of labor means that various people had various occupations. Of course, with a division of labor, there was a social hierarchy. Kings were at the top of the social hierarchy in Mesopotamia, obviously because they ruled certain areas.
Below them were priests. Religion was huge in ancient Mesopotamia, so it made sense for the priests to be in an upper class.
Then there were merchants who traded items to make their living. Bartering is always an important part of society, so the middle class consisted of mostly them. After that, there were farmers and laborers.
They are basically the lower end of merchants, because they too, offer their products, but benefit less from it. And at the bottom were slaves.
