Mnemonics are strategies for improving memory. There are different plans to improve memory. One of such plans is as follows:
Engaging in deep level processing: If one wants to memorise any information well, he should engage himself in deep level processing. Craik and Lockhart have demonstrated that processing information in terms of meaning that they convey leads to better memory as compared to attending to their surface features. Deep processing would involve asking as many questions related to the information as possible, considering its meaning and examining its relationships to the facts one already knows. In this way, the new information will become a part of his existing knowledge framework and the chances that it will be remembered are increased.

The vertices of the triangle ΔABC are A (1, 2), B (- 3, 2) and C (3, - 2). The sides of the triangle are AB, BC, CA and we have to find the tangent ratio of the angle A.
The slope of the line AB is
m₁ = (2 - 2) / (- 3 - 1)
= 0 and
that of the line CA is
m₂ = (2 + 2) / (1 - 3)
= - 2
Then the angle A is determined from
tanA = (m₁ - m₂) / (1 + m₁m₂)
= (0 + 2) / (1 + 0)
= 2
Hence tanA = 2

The poetess Shirley Toulson while writing this poem travels down her memory lane. She becomes nostalgic. She is reminded of a time when her mother was young and she was a child. She remembers how her mother used to look at one of her old photograph, where she posed in the beach with her cousins Betty and Dolly with a smile. But then she realizes that her mother died twelve years ago and is no more with her. She gets upset by this. The photograph was like a ruthless fact for her as it invigorated the sense of loss in her. But when she accepts the truth of human life the photograph provides a sweet memory of her mother.

A collection of elements is known as a subset of all the elements of the set are contained inside another set.
Set A is said to be a subset of Set B if all the elements of set A are also present in Set B.
Example: If set A has {X, Y} and set B has {X, Y, Z}, then A is the subset of B because elements of A are also present in set B.
A ⊆ B; which means Set A is a subset of Set B.
