Let p(n): x+4x+7x+........+(3n-2)x=1/2n(3n-2)x P(1): x=(3*1-2) x=x, so p(1) is true Now , assume that p(k) is also true for some integer k P(k): x+4x+7x+........+(3k-2)x=1/2k(3k-2)x Now , put n=k+1 P(k+1): x+4x+7x+........+(3k-2)x+{3(k+1)-2}x=1/2(k+1){3(k+1)-2}x LHS: x+4x+7x+.......+(3x-2)x+(3k+1)x From above equation 1/2k(3k-2)x+(3k+1)x Taking LCM and solving 1/2(k+1){3(k+1)-2}x....RHS.... hence proof

The number of sets of a set containing n-elements =2n .

A proper subset of a set is the set whose elements are in the given set, but it is not equal to the set.

Let S be a subset of A, S is called Proper subset if and only if it is a subset of A, and S ≠ A .

So, The number of proper subsets of a set containing n-elements is 2^{ n }- 1

As, The number of subsets contains a improper subset that is the set itself, so 1 is subtracted from number of total subsets to get number of proper subsets.

Nuclear force as explained above

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 7 months ago

Nuclear force is the strongest force in the nature .

The particles inside the nucleus are charged particles (protons) and neutral particles (neutrons) which are bounded to each other by a strong interaction called nuclear force or strong force. Hence, they may be defined as the forces binding the nucleons (protons and neutrons) together in a nucleus. These are responsible for the stability of the atomic nucleus.

The grandmother was a great animal lover. When she lived in village, she regularly fed the village stray dogs. She never forgot to carry stale chapatis for them when she accompanied the author to the village temple.

When she went to the city to live with her son, she started feeding sparrows. She sat in the verandah to feed the sparrows. She broke the bread into little bits, and threw them to the birds. Hundreds of sparrows collected round her chirping incessantly. A few of the birds sat on her legs, others on her shoulders. Some even sat on her head; but she never ever shooed them away.

The sparrows mourned the grandmother’s death and appeared to be grief-stricken. They sat around her and did not chirrup at all. Everyone felt sorry for the birds and the author’s mother fetched some bread for them. She broke it into little crumbs, the way his grandmother used to, and threw it to them. The sparrows took no notice of the bread. When they carried the grandmother’s corpse off, they flew away quietly.

It helps you to answer questions easier than you expected,If you are confused about the answer to a question, you can simply use the dimensional formula to get to the answer.Bit it can't always be applied if two or more options having same dimensions are given. For eg:You are asked to find the work done in a giben situation. But you are unable to get to the answer due to some errors in intervening steps. In such cases, you can apply dimensional formula to arrive at the answer and equate the formula to the dimensions of work, if and only if all the options have different dimensions.

The electromagnetic force is a long range force which acts of charged particles. Like charges repel and unlike charges attract.

The colour force binds quarks together. It binds three quarks to make a baryon such as a proton or neutron. It binds two quarks to make a meson. The strong nuclear force is actually a residual effect of the colour force where quarks in a proton or neutron get bound to quarks in adjacent protons and neutrons. This effectively binds protons and neutrons to make a nucleus.

The weak nuclear force is responsible for radioactive beta decay. It can convert a proton into a neutron, a positron and an electron neutrino. It can also convert a neutron into a proton, an electron and an electron antineutrino.

The strong nuclear force is very short range and can only bind adjacent protons and neutrons. The electromagnetic force is long range. Thus every proton in a nucleus repels every other proton. This is which heavy elements are unstable.
