Refraction is the bending of a wave when it enters a medium where its speed is different. We can define it as the change in direction of a wave passing from one medium to another or from a gradual change in the medium.
Laws of refraction state that:
- The incident ray refracted ray, and the normal to the interface of two media at the point of incidence all lie on the same plane.
- The ratio of the sine of the angle of incidence to the sine of the angle of refraction is a constant. This is also known as Snell’s law of refraction.
sin i/sin r = constant
μ1 sin i = μ2 sin r

The small pieces of rocks which move around the sun are called Meteoroids.
Meteoroids are lumps of rock or iron that orbit the sun, just as planets, asteroids, and comets do. Meteoroids, especially the tiny particles called micrometeoroids, are extremely common throughout the solar system.

Rights of women: A woman in Rome had full rights in the property of her father. On her father's death, she could become an independent property owner. A woman had full individual property rights in her husband's property. In other words, a married couple was not regarded as one but two financial entities. Divorce was an easy task and required only a notice either by the husband or by the wife. All these aspects are very modern in the sense that countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq and Congo are still struggling to provide equal rights to women.

The computer system is a collection of different hardware components. So we need software that could perform the basic tasks such as recognizing input from the input devices, sending output to the output devices, keeping tracks of files and directories on the disk and control computer peripheral devices like mouse, printer, scanners etc. An OS is a collection of system program that controls the operations of the computer system. It activates and recognizes the hardware devices and provides the operating environment for other application software. It acts as the intermediary between a user and the computer hardware. It has major two objectives, first is to activate the hardware devices and other is to provide an interactive interface to the user and interpret commands so that it can communicate with the hardware. Example UNIX, MS-DOS, MS-Windows, Linux etc.

The firmware is the deeply embedded, low-level software that provides an interface between the hardware and the application/operating system level software. It resides in the ROM and executes when power is applied to the embedded hardware system. Firmware can remain active after system initialization and supports basic system operations. The choice of which firmware to use for a particular ARM-based system depends upon the specific application, which can range from loading and executing a sophisticated operating system to simply relinquishing control to a small microkernel. Consequently, requirements can vary greatly from one firmware implementation to another. For example, a small system may require just minimal firmware support to boot a small operating system. One of the main purposes of firmware is to provide a stable mechanism to load and boot an operating system. The bootloader is a small application that installs the operating system or application onto a hardware target. The bootloader only exists up to the point that the operating system or application is executing, and it is commonly incorporated into the firmware.
