Chromosomes are thread-like structures present in the nucleus, which carries genetic information from one generation to another. They play a vital role in cell division, heredity, variation, mutation, repair and regeneration.
In Eukaryotic cells, genetic material is present in the nucleus in chromosomes, which is made up of highly organized DNA molecules with histone proteins supporting its structure.
Chromosome means ‘coloured body’, that refers to its staining ability by certain dyes.

Muhammad Tughlaq
Muhammad bin Tughlaq was one of the most remarkable rulers of his age. He is known for some of his schemes and policies which failed disastrously over the period of time.
Muhammad bin Tughlaq transfered his capital from Delhi to Daulatabad. He did this primarily because of two reasons:
- Daulatabad was centrally located and was equidistance from Delhi and other important places.
- Since Delhi was within the reach of the Mongols, Daulatabad appeared to be at a safe distance from the possible Mongol attacks in the future.
Without the king, Delhi now became prone to the Mongol attacks. Later, Muhammad bin Tughlaq again shifted his capital back to Delhi.
Token Currency
- The scarcity of silver and abundance of copper and bronze metal prompted the sultan to issue copper coins bearing same value as that of silver coins.
- However, the new copper coins bearing the same value as the silver coin did not had any complicated design on it and could be easily forged.
- People started minting coins in their houses. The forged copper coins flooded the markets. Situation became worse when the traders and merchants refused to accept these coins. Economy came to a stand still.
- Realising his folly, Muhammad bin Tughlaq issued genuine silver coins on the place of copper coins. This further drained the royal treasury.
Taxation in Doab
- Doab is a fertile alluvial tract lying between the rivers Ganga and the Yamuna. Muhammad Tughlaq increased the taxes in the Doab region as he was in need of money for raising a large army.
- Unfortunately, the increase in taxes coincided with a severe famine in the region. The tax collectors however showed no signs of mercy and ruthlessly collected taxes.
- Muhammad Tughlaq, he ordered several relief measures but these came too late.
Plan of Conquests
Muhammad bin had an ambition of conquering the world. He thus organised a strong army and paid them one full year’s salary in advance. He decided to annex Khurasan, Persia and Iraq. However, due to financial pressures following the failure of taxation in Doab and the token currency, he abandoned the project and disbanded the army.
The administrative measures were not successful. His military campaign to Kasmir turned out to be disastrous. The people who were forced to shift to Daulatabad resented the actions of the sultan. The increase in taxes in the Ganga and Yamuna areas resulted in several rebellions. He also had to finally abandon the token currency.

- Germany was a monarchy before 1918. After she lost the First World War, the emperor abdicated the throne.
- Thus, the parliamentary parties tried to establish a democratic government in Germany.
- A National Assembly met at Weimar and tried to establish a democratic constitution with a federal structure.
- Deputies now began to be elected to the German Parliament or Reichstag, on the basis of equal and universal votes cast by all adults including women. This was the birth of the Weimar republic.

Students Service To Victims Of Fire
By: Sweety
L.M. Jain School
14th February, 20xx. A major slum area in Vilas Nagar was gutted by a massive fire on 10th February, 20xx. The fire whose exact cause is still not very clear caused extensive damage to life and property. Ten persons lost their lives, many were injured and about two hundred people were rendered homeless. Our school joined and relief to the victims. The students of our school got together and collected food packets, old clothes, medicines, utensils, etc. to be distributed to these homeless and helpless people. Ten students and three teachers personally visited this slum area to ensure proper and fair distribution of the items that had been collected and thus provided some relief to these unfortunate people in their time of crisis and misery.

In our country, each and every citizen can practice their choice of religion. Everyone is free to do whatever his/her religion tells them to do. So Muslims fast during Ramzan, Christians during Lent and Hindus during Navaratri. However, in following our religion we should not forget that other people are free to follow theirs and that this is no reason to fight.

The given compound 'A' is calcium oxychloride because it is a oxidising agent and in open it reacts with CO2 to give pungent smelling chlorine gas.
CaOCl2 + CO2 → CaCO3 + Cl2 It is prepared by the action of dry slaked lime with chlorine gas.
Ca(OH)2 + Cl2 → CaOCl2 + H2O
Calcium oxychloride is commercially known as Bleaching powder.

The simplest version of Ohm's law: V = IR
where V is the voltage drop across a resistor of resistance R when a current I flows through it.
Let us generalize this law so that it is expressed in terms of E and J, rather than V and I.
Consider a length l of a conductor of uniform cross-sectional area A with a current I flowing down it.
In general, we expect the electrical resistance of the conductor to be proportional to its length, and inversely proportional to its area (i.e., it is harder to push an electrical current down a long rather than a short wire, and it is easier to push a current down a wide rather than a narrow conducting channel.)
Thus, we can write
=>R=ηlA=>R=ηlA
The constant ηη is called the Resistivity, and is measured in units of ohm-meters. Ohm's law becomes
=>V=ηlAI=>V=ηlAI
=>Vl=ηIA=>Vl=ηIA
However, IA=JxIA=Jx (supposing that the conductor is aligned along the x-axis) and Vl=ExVl=Ex, so the above equation reduces to
Ex=η.JxEx=η.Jx
There is nothing special about the x-axis (in an isotropic conducting medium), so the previous formula immediately generalize
E=η.JE=η.J
This is the vector form of Ohm's law.

Legacy is the amount received by the not-for-profit organisation as per the will of a deceased person. It is non-recurring in nature and, therefore, treated as capital receipt. Hence, legacy cannot be treated as the main source of income for an NPO.
It is not the main source of income for an NPO. It is treated as a capital receipt.
