Yama means restraints or abstention. Yamas are practices to eliminate wrong, harmful or disturbing behaviour. They create a foundation of right living. Yama consists of five moral codes of conduct. These are :
(i) Ahimsa or non-violence : It means not to hurt any creature mentally or physically through mind, speech or action. We must not display any negative emotions or injure anyone.
(ii) Satya or truthfulness : It is a presentation of a matter with truthfulness in thought, word and deed. We must not tell a lie in all the dealings of life.
(iii) Asteya or Non-stealing : of anything in life such as money, material, ideas, speeches or writings. We should feel satisfied, whatever God has given us.
(iv) Celibacy or Brahmacharya : It means refraining from all the activities related to sexual enjoyment directly or indirectly.
(v) Aparigraha or non-possessiveness : It means to lead a life with minimum requirements.

The term sustainable development is applied to the development of a country or world, that is to resume and maintained for future generations. For instance, groundwater; it is generally rendered by nature. Accordingly, we must consume groundwater in a manner that it can be said a Rational or careful use of resources. Moreover, the precise and systematic use of groundwater is essential as imprudent use of the naturally provided (groundwater; in the case of groundwater) resources may deplete them. We should not consume and contaminated the groundwater to a degree that it converts unavailable or unusable for our forthcoming generation

Dear Sir
Subject: Nuisance caused by loudspeakers in the city during examination days
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper I would like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned to the nuisance caused by the indiscriminate use of loudspeakers at religious places, wedding processions, market places and jagrans during the examination days. Students are unable to concentrate on the heavy backlog of revision work during these days. The result is that they fare badly in the examinations and this leads to frustration and unhappiness among students. Their parents also suffer due to it. It is high time the authorities concerned take a serious note of this nuisance and initiate remedial measures to check the problem. Use of loudspeakers should be totally banned irrespective of the place where these are used. It is not only a cause of nuisance but also adds to the noise pollution.

Yours faithfully
Prabhu Kumar

Abacus was the first calculating device

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 2 months ago (2577571)

The Latin word ‘abax’ from which the word abacus is derived means a flat surface or table. Today, abacus has evolved into a framed wooden object with strings of plastic or wooden beads. The ancient abacus was a flat board or tablet on which stones or shells were moved in order to calculate. It was only in Rome that a metal abacus originated similarly to what is used these days. Abacus has an origin in countries like Europe, China and Russia but its exact time of origin is unknown.

According to the valence bond theory, Electrons in a molecule occupy atomic orbitals rather than molecular orbitals. The atomic orbitals overlap on the bond formation and the larger the overlap the stronger the bond. The metal bonding is essentially covalent in origin and metallic structure involves resonance of electron-pair bonds between each atom and its neighbors.

Laws of Reflection and Refraction There are three laws which govern Reflection and Refraction. These can be very easily derived from geometry. They are: Angle of Incident Ray with Normal(i) EQUALS Reflected Ray with Normal(r).(i=r) Popularly known as SNELL'S LAW it is n1*sin i=n2*sin e where i is same as above,e is angle of refracted beam with normal. The INCIDENT ray,REFLECTED ray, REFRACTED ray and the NORMAL at the point of incidence all lie in the same plane. The plane is referred as plane of incidence.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 2 months ago (2577571)

The two laws of reflection are:

         (i) the incident ray, the reflected ray and the normal (at the point of incidence), all lie in the same plane.

(ii) the angle of reflection (<i>r</i>) is always equal to the angle of incidence (<i>i</i>)

                  ∠<i>r</i> = ∠<i>i</i>

Snell’s law of refraction,

Obtuse Angle:

An angle whose measure is greater than 90° but less than 180° is called an obtuse angle.

In other words, an angle measuring between 90° to 180° is called an obtuse angle.

When an acid reacts with a base, the hydrogen ion of acid combines with the hydroxide ion of base and forms water. As these ions combine together and form water; instead of remaining free, thus both neutralize each other. Olr + H+ - H20 Example: ► When sodium hydroxide (a base) reacts with hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide breaks into sodium ion and hydroxide ion and hydrochloric acid breaks into hydrogen ion and chloride ion. Hydrogen ion and hydroxide ion combine together and form water, while sodium ion and chloride ion combine together and form sodium chloride. NaOH + HCl - Oir +Na++ H+ + er - NaCl + H20

King Adithya H M... 5 years, 2 months ago (9827241)

When a acid and base react it produce water and salt. This process is called neutralization. In this reaction a neutral solution is formed so, it is named like that. eg: Ant bites and injects formic acid, is cured by calamine which is a base.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 2 months ago (2577571)

A neutralisation reaction is a chemical reaction between an acid and base dissolved in water.

For example.
KOH(aq)+HNO3(aq)→KNO3(aq)+H2O(aq)

It is called neutralisation as both KNO3KNO3 (salt) and H2OH2O that are formed as the products, are of neutral nature.

*Stereochemistry* is the study of how molecules are affected by the way their atoms are arranged in space. It is also known as 3D chemistry as the word stereo means three dimensional. Using stereochemistry, chemists can work out the relationships between different molecules that are made up from the same atoms

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 2 months ago (2577571)

Stereochemistry is the systematic presentation of a specific field of science and technology traditionally requires a short preliminary excursion into history. Stereochemistry is the ‘chemistry of space ‘, that is stereochemistry deals with the spatial arrangements of atoms and groups in a molecule.
