Metamorphic rocks arise from the transformation of existing rock types, in a process called metamorphism, which means "change in form". ... Some examples of metamorphic rocks are gneiss, slate, marble, schist, and quartzite. Sedimentary rocks, formed from the products of weathering by cementation or precipitation on the Earth's surface. Metamorphic rocks, formed by temperature and pressure changes inside the Earth. All three types of rock make up the Earth's lithosphere, the outermost layer. ... Quick cooling lavas are called volcanic rocks.

Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October, 1931 to a Tamil Muslim family in Rameswaram, then in Madras Presidency in British India and now in Tamil Nadu. His father's name was Jainulabdeen, who was a boat owner and imam of a local mosque. His mother's name was Ashiamma, who was a housewife.
Dr. Abdul Kalam, was very closely bonded with his family, especially his mother. Hailing from a very poor family, his mother made many sacrifices to raise the children. Hence Kalam has written poems depicting his mother's pains at many times. In this particular poem he describes as to how loved he is to his mother, than his rest of brothers and sisters, who envy him for being loved more. He says he was only 10 years old and he remembers very clearly how she wept in the night, grieving about the pains his son has to endure everyday.
Only his mother understood the beautiful world of the poet, which he weaved around himself, and only she knew his pains. And he was consoled only in the lap of her mother, when she moved her caring hands on his head, all his pains were washed away. His mother gave him constant hope and strength in times of need and she was the only source of encouragement to him.
The author remembers that all that he is today is because of his mother, for the courage and perseverance that he possesses has been bestowed on him only by his mother. And finally the author hopes that he meets his dead mother once again on the great Judgement day.

They are pipe-like consisting of a group of specialised cells. They transport substances and form a two-way traffic in plants. Which of the following terms qualifies for the features mentioned above?
(a) Xylem tissue
(b) Vascular tissue
(c) Root hairs
(d) Phloem tissue
Answer:
(d) The vascular tissue called phloem forms a two-way traffic in plants for transport of substances. It carries the food from leaves to all other parts of plant.
The other options, i.e. xylem tissue carries water from the roots upwards to stem and leaves, vascular tissue consists of xylem and phloem vessels in plants and root hairs absorb water from the soil that moves from cell to cell in the root and ultimately enters the xylem vessels.

Disobedience can have a variety of causes. At times, it is due to unreasonable parental expectations. Or it might be related to the child's temperament, or to school problems, family stress, or conflicts between his parents.
Civil disobedience is the active, professed refusal of a citizen to obey certain laws, demands, orders or commands of a government. By some definitions, civil disobedience has to be nonviolent to be called "civil". Hence, civil disobedience is sometimes equated with peaceful protests or nonviolent resistance.

Barren vegetation describes an area of land where plant growth may be sparse, stunted, and/or contain limited biodiversity. Environmental conditions such as toxic or infertile soil, high winds, coastal salt-spray and climatic conditions are often key factors in poor plant growth and development. Barren land consists of soil that is so poor that plants cannot grow in it. He also wants to use the water to irrigate barren desert land. ... As the leaves of autumn wither and fall, so has my own life become barren. Those ecosystems in which less than one third of the area has vegetation or other cover. Metamorphic rocks are formed from other rocks that are changed because of heat or pressure. They are not made from molten rock – rocks that do melt form igneous rocks instead. Earth movements can cause rocks to be deeply buried or squeezed. As a result, the rocks are heated and put under great pressure. Rock that was once one form of rock but has changed to another under the influence of heat, pressure, or some other agent without passing through a liquid phase. Metamorphic rocks were once igneous or sedimentary rocks, but have been changed (metamorphosed) as a result of intense heat and/or pressure within the Earth's crust. They are crystalline and often have a “squashed” (foliated or banded) texture.

We have given that
Sum of the first n terms = 4n – n2
⇒ Sn = 4n – n2
Put, n = 1, then
S1 = 4(1) – (1)2 = 4 – 1 = 3
⇒ d1 = 3
Hence, the first term is
Put n = 2, then
S2 = 4(2) – (2)2
= 8 – 4 = 4
Hence, the sum of two terms is 4.
Now, second term = S2 – S1 = 4 – 3 = 1
Put n = 3, then
S3 = 4(3) – (3)2
= 12 – 9 = 3
Third term = S3 – S2 = 3 – 4 = –1
Put n = 9, 10
S9= 4(9) – (9)2
= 36 – 81 = –45
S10= 4(10) – (10)2
= 40 –100 = –60
∴ Tenth term = S10 – S9
= – 60 – (–45)
= – 60 + 45 = –15
Now, Sn –1 = 4(n – 1) – (n – 1)2
= (4n – 4) – (n2 + 1 – 2n)
= 4n – 4 – n2 – 1 + 2n
= 6n – n2 – 5
∴ nth term = Sn – Sn – 1
= (4n – n2) – (6n – n2 – 5)
= 4n – n2 – 6n + n2 + 5
= 5 –2n

SOCIETY as a whole, needs several things which the private sector will not be able to provide at a reasonable cost.
Following are the reasons for this:
- Activities in the private sectors are guided by the motive to earn profit and not welfare of the people.
- There are several services needed by the society which the private sector cannot provide at a reasonable price. Activities like construction of roads, bridges, railways, irrigation through dams etc, require huge amount of money which is beyond the capacity of the private sector. Private sector charges high amount for the use of these services.
- It is difficult for the private sector to collect money from thousands of people who use these services.
- The private sector sometimes ignore regional balanced development equality of income and development of basic industries.
- Private sector includes profit margins whereas, the government will charge a reasonable price for services. It is the primary duty of the Government to ensure the provision of public facilities with a service motto.

The terms “national awakening” and “national revival” refer to a historical process that has occurred in many parts of the world, and that marks nationalism's emergence as a potent political force in some particular country or region. The Estonian Age of Awakening is a period in history where Estonians came to acknowledge themselves as a nation deserving the right to govern themselves. This period is considered to begin in the 1850s with greater rights being granted to commoners and to end with the declaration of the Republic of Estonia in 1918.

Here we are basically analyzing Series and Parallel Circuits.
Let us first understand some characteristics.
★ Series Circuit
→ Current through each resistor is same.
→ Voltage Drop is different across each resistor.
★ Parallel Circuit
→ Current is different through each resistor.
→ Voltage Drop is the same across each resistor.
Coming to the question: Three bulbs are connected, once in a Series Circuit, and once in a Parallel Circuit.
Let us assume that the battery is of Voltage V.
(i) In Series Circuit, the voltage drops across the bulbs. Each bulb has a voltage drop of (V/3) across it.
Each bulb glows with the same brightness.
In Parallel Circuit, each bulb receives a Voltage V.
Again, each bulb glows with the same brightness.
However, the bulbs in Parallel Circuit glow with more brightness as compared to bulbs in Series Circuit.
The reason is simply that Parallel Circuit Bulbs receive more Voltage.
(ii) One bulb is fused.
In Series Circuit, if one bulb is fused, all other bulbs will stop working. Because the current cannot flow to the other bulbs
However, in Parallel Circuit, there are still other pathways for current to flow.
The fused bulb will stop working, but the other bulbs will continue to glow with the same brightness.
(iii) The diagram is attached.

| Parameter | Compound | Mixture |
| Meaning | A compound is a pure form comprising of two or more elements in a chemical combination | A mixture is an impure substance involving two or more substances that are physically mixed. |
| Composition | The presence of elements in compounds is in a definite quantity | The presence of substances in mixtures is not in a definite quantity |
| Formula | A compound certainly has a specific formula on the basis of its constituents | Mixtures are devoid of a chemical formula |
| Properties | The properties of a specific type of compound are definite and there is no variation in them | The properties of a mixture tend to vary due to their dependence on the type of substances present |
| Substances | The formation of new substances always results in a compound because of the mixing of properties of the various elements | Formation of new substances does not take place from the mixtures because the properties of its constituents are not changeable |
| Separation | The elements of a compound are not easy to separate by physical methods | The substances of a mixture are certainly easier to separate by various physical methods like chromatography, evaporation, filtration, etc |
| Change of heat | There is a change of heat during the formation of a particular compound | There is no heat change in mixtures when their formation takes place |
| Melting or Boiling point | Compounds have an unchangeable definite melting or boiling point | Mixtures lack a definite melting or boiling point |
| Examples of Compound and Mixture | Methane, salt, baking soda, etc | Brass, chromium, bismuth, etc |
