Three different nuclear RNA polymerases are found in eukaryotic cells. RNA polymerase I: It is in charge of generating the majority of ribosomal RNA (rRNA) transcripts. RNA polymerase II: It is responsible for converting protein-coding genes into messenger RNA (mRNA). RNA polymerase III: It is responsible for converting rRNA genes into tiny RNAs such as transfer RNA (tRNA) and 5S rRNA.
