SELF Help Group are small groups of 15-20 members of rural people in particular women belonging to one neighbouhood who meet and saves regularly. The members of the group can take small loan to meet their needs on low interest rate.
Role:

  • Most of the decisions regarding the savings and loan activities are taken by the group members.
  • The group decides as regards the loans to be granted- the purpose, amount, interest to be
    charged, repayment schedule etc.
  • Group is responsible for the repayment of the loan.
  • Any case of non-repayment of loan, by any one member is followed up seriously by other members in the group.
  • The SHG help borrowers overcome the problem of collateral.
  • They provide timely loans for a variety of purposes and at a reasonable interest rate.

Yogita Ingle 5 years ago (2577571)

  • Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are informal associations of people who choose to come together to find ways to improve their living conditions.
  • It can be defined as self governed, peer controlled information group of people with similar socio-economic background and having a desire to collectively perform common purpose.
  • Villages face numerous problems related to poverty, illiteracy, lack of skills, lack of formal credit etc. These problems cannot be tackled at an individual level and need collective efforts.
  • Thus SHG can become a vehicle of change for the poor and marginalized. SHG rely on the notion of “Self Help” to encourage self-employment and poverty alleviation.

Functions

  • It looks to build the functional capacity of the poor and the marginalized in the field of employment and income generating activities.
  • It resolves conflicts through collective leadership and mutual discussion.
  • It provides collateral free loan with terms decided by the group at the market driven rates.
  • Such groups work as a collective guarantee system for members who propose to borrow from organised sources. The poor collect their savings and save it in banks. In return they receive easy access to loans with a small rate of interest to start their micro unit enterprise.
  • Consequently, Self-Help Groups have emerged as the most effective mechanism for delivery of microfinance services to the poor.

Gaurav Seth 5 years ago (2898529)

I have seen a different type of houses in different areas like
(i) Houses made up of wood, which are found in hilly areas.
(ii) Houses made up of mud and bamboo are found in villages.
(iii) Houses made up of cement, bricks, glass, etc. that are found in cities.
These houses are strong and can withstand heavy rains and storms, but the houses made up of mud and bamboo or of wood cannot withstand such climatic conditions.

A good friend is not a selfish person. He is willing to share his knowledge or wisdom with us. He will not hesitate to assist us in our studies. Sadly, unselfishness has slowly faded away from our society as "kiasuism" began to take place. On the contrary, we should be instilled with an unselfish and generous attitude.

A good friend also shares the same interest and perspective of life. It makes people grow closer and fonder of each other. They spend a great deal of time together pursuing their interests. They hold the same outlook on life. This is what makes them get along so well.

A good friend is a person in whom we confide our innermost feelings and deepest secrets. A good friend will not blab out our secrets. He will not spread rumours about us. I guess this quality maintains a friendship throughout life.

These are the qualities I hope to find in a friend. Hopefully, everyone is blessed with a good friend so the world becomes a more beautiful place to live in.

Endoplasmic reticulum” might be rough and it posses ribosomes. The smooth type of them plays vital role in formation of new lipids in which the smooth membrances are embedded by the enzymes.

Only few  proteins will deposited in “endoplasmic reticulum” the remaining are moved to the “golgi apparatus”. These apparatus are situated near the “endoplasmic reticulum” and next to each other. Some proteins are secreted from “golgi apparatus” were forwarded to “lysosomes” which is also called as cell membrane.
