(i) Imagine a government that may take decisions very fast. But it may take decisions that are not accepted by the people and may, therefore, face problems.
(ii) In contrast, the democratic government will take more time to follow procedure before arriving at a decision.
(iii) However, because it has followed procedure, its decisions may be more acceptable to the people and more effective. So, the cost of time that democracy pays is perhaps worth it.

Following are the four fundamental forces in nature: Gravitational force: Gravitational force is one of the four fundamental forces of nature. It is the weakest of the four. It is also the attractive force which arises from the gravitational interaction. Example:  (i) The revolving of the moon around the earth is due to gravitational attraction between them. (ii) The formation of tides in the ocean is due to the gravitational force acting between the earth and the moon. Electromagnetic force:: It is the force between charged particles. Charges at rest have electric attraction (between unlike charges) and repulsion (between like charges). Charges in motion produce magnetic force. Together they are called Electromagnetic Force. Strong nuclear force: Strong Nuclear Force: It is the attractive force between protons and neutrons in a nucleus. It is charge-independent and acts equally between a proton and a proton, a neutron and a neutron, and a proton and a neutron. Recent discoveries show that protons and neutrons are built of elementary particles, quarks. Weak nuclear force:  This force appears only in certain nuclear processes such as the β-decay of a nucleus. In β-decay, the nucleus emits an electron and an uncharged particle called neutrino. This particle was first predicted by Wolfgang Pauli in 1931.

RAY FINNED FISH Flying fish are ray-finned fish with highly modified pectoral fins. Despite their name, flying fish aren't capable of powered flight. Instead they propel themselves out of the water at speeds of more than 35 miles (56 kilometers) an hour. Mangrove Killifish The BBC labels the mangrove killifish (Rivulus marmoratus), found among the mangroves in Florida, Latin America, and the Caribbean, "The most extreme fish on Earth." For starters, this is the only vertebrate animal that is known to fertilize its own eggs. There are males and females in the species, but most of these little fish are hermaphrodites. These fish are short-lived; some survive for only three months, making them the world's shortest-lived vertebrates.

The Blue Revolution is an initiative taken by the government for the growth of the aquaculture industry. It started in China as it accounts for around two-thirds of the total aquaculture production worldwide.

Recently, the aquaculture industry has been growing at an average rate of 9% a year and India is one of the fastest growers. The Neel Kranti Mission was the start of the Blue Revolution in India with the vision to achieve the economic prosperity of India keeping in view the sustainability, bio-security, and environmental concerns.

The objectives of the mission also known as the Blue Revolution are mentioned below:

  1. Completely tapping the total fish potential of India on both islands as well as in the marine sector and to triple the production by the year 2020.
  2. Transforming the fisheries sector into a modern industry through the utilization of new technologies and processes.

he Blue Revolution in India was launched during the 7th Five Year Plan (1985-1990) during the sponsorship of the Fish Farmers Development Agency (FFDA) by the Central Government of India. Later, during the 8th Five Year Plan (1992-97), the Intensive Marine Fisheries Program was launched, and eventually, the fishing harbours in Vishakhapatnam, Kochi, Tuticorin, Porbandar, and Port Blair were also established over the time.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare along with the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries planned to restructure this scheme along with the other ongoing schemes by merging it under a single umbrella of ‘Blue Revolution’. This scheme focused on the development and management of fisheries controlled by the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB).

The components that are included under the Blue Revolution Schemes are :

  • National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) and its activities
  • Strengthening of Database & Geographical Information System of the Fisheries Sector
  • Development of Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture
  • National Scheme of Welfare of Fishermen
  • Development of Marine Fisheries, Infrastructure and Post-Harvest Operations
  • Monitoring, Control and Surveillance (MCS) and other need-based Interventions

A fuse is an electrical safety device, which is placed in a circuit to prevent overloading of current in the circuit by melting when there is too much current flowing through the circuit.

Yogita Ingle 5 years ago (2577571)

Fuse should be placed on live wire because the live wire has the higher voltage. If the live wire is damaged inside the appliance and a large current is created, then the fuse needs to be in this part of the circuit so that it can blow. If the fuse was on neutral wire and a fault occurred on the line, then the fuse would not be in the circuit to blow off.

Save water- are we doing enough?

Earth is the only known planet in this universe where life is possible only because of the availability of water and oxygen. Water is most important necessity of life for all the living beings on the earth. Without water no one can exist even for a day. We also know that there is very less percentage of clean water means drinking water available on the earth. So, we should not waste clean water and save it for future generations.

People working in different fields need water for different purposes such as farmers need water to grow crops, gardeners to water plants, industrialists for industry work, electricity plants to generate hydro-electricity, etc. So, we should save clean water for the wellness of our future generations and healthy life of water and wildlife animals. People at many places of the world are suffering water scarcity or completely lack of water in their regions. By 2050, India will be amongst the countries which will face acute water shortage. India is one of the countries worldwide facing huge level water scarcity today. Places in India like Rajasthan and some parts of Gujarat are facing water scarcity where women and girls of the houses cover a long distance on bare foot to just get a pot of water. In some cities like Bangalore people have to buy water bottles worth Rs. 25 to Rs. 30 to drink clean water. People face more problems during summer months when the daily need of water increases. Recently, it is studied that around 25% urban population lacks availability to clean drinking water. In some areas, the privatization of water bodies is the main reason of water scarcity.

There are different methods we can follow to save clean drinking water to deal with the water scarcity. Rain water harvesting is one of the most effective and suitable method among save water techniques. Afforestation is also best method as it reduces the surface runoff and recharges the ground water. It promotes underground water conservation. By practicing such methods we can conserve more water naturally and ensure the availability of it for future generations. We should take a pledge and make a lifelong motto of “Save water, save life, save earth”.We should teach simple methods of water saving to our children, women and other members of the family like turning off all the taps tightly after each use, using sprinklers to water the lawn, giving bath to pets in the lawn, repair of all the leaking pipes, harvesting rain water for purposes like watering plant, washing clothes, etc. We should also practice keeping the river (especially Ganga) water clean and safe for future use and safety of water animals.

The early urbanization developed in Mesopotamia. It did not happen in the agriculturally fertile north-east rather it happened in the south. We have read that a city develops as a result of interdependencies among people for various economic activities. This only happens when people cease to be self-sufficient in terms of economic activities. It was not possible in naturally fertile land where food production could be the only or main economic activity. Examples of many earliest cities give concrete proof for this. So, it is said that it was not natural fertility and high levels of food production which were the causes of early urbanization.

Viruses are non-living features intermediate between non-living and living organisms. On the basis of characters, such as non-cellular organization, inactivity outside the host organism, lack of respiration and cellular metabolism, these are caused non-living. Moreover, similar to non-living objects viruses can be crystallized and precipitated. Living Feature Similar to living beings, they possess genetic material (DNA or RNA), property of mutation, irritability, can grow and multiply inside the host cell. They are intracellular obligate parasites and attack specific hosts. Thus, keeping these points in mind, it is quite difficult to ascertain whether viruses are living or non-living.
