In the painting of fedric sorrieu it show the Democratic nation and fraternity

Gaurav Seth 5 years ago (2898529)

In 1848, Fedric Sorrieu painted an utopian image(A situation known to be true is actually is not) picture which described that the United States and the European countries are no more in absolutist rule. They are marching in a long chain where the US and France is leading the other countries like Germany, Switzerland etc.. They are passing by the Statue Of Liberty which holds the charter or the rights of men in one hand and the torch of enlightenment in the other. There were the shattered pieces of  absolutist institutions which glorified that the monarchy has come to the end and the people are living without any sorrow after that. At last, Christ, Angels and Saints are watching them from heaven. This was the utopian image which he created in thought that one day this will definitely happen.

Reduce force exerted by the ball

Gaurav Seth 5 years ago (2898529)

reduce the force exerted by the ball
He does this to increase the change in momentum time of the ball. This helps him to save himself from getting hurt by the ball.

While catching a fast moving cricket ball, a fielder in the ground gradually pulls his hand backward because by doing this, he increases the time in which the velocity of ball will become zero. Thus, the rate of change of momentum will be large and less force will be exerted by the ball on the hand of the fielder. Hence, he will not get injured by the ball.

FIRST – 1906, MIDDLE – 1921, FINAL STAGE - 1947

The first National Flag of India was hoisted on August 7, 1906 in the Parsee Bagan Square (Green Park), Kolkata. The flag was composed of three equal horizontal stripes of green, yellow and red. The green stripe on the top had eight white lotuses embossed in a row. The word Vande Mataram was inscribed in deep blue on the middle yellow stripe at the bottom had the sun in white on the left and the crescent and a star in white on the right. The second flag came out in 1921; Pingali Vengaiyah (an Andhra youth) prepared a flag and handed it to Gandhiji. It was in two colours, red and green representing two major communities and a large charkha extending to both the bands as a symbol of progress. Gandhiji apparently was pleased with the Flag and suggested to the youth to introduce a white stripe in the middle and superimpose the charkha in blue on it. On July 22 1947, Constituent assembly adopted a new Flag as free India’s National Flag with saffron at the top, white at the middle and green at the bottom in equal proportions and the chakra in navy blue on white stripe (Chakra which appears on the lion capital of Ashoka at Sarnath as Dharma Chakra). The diameter of the wheel (Chakra) shall be approximate to the width of the white band at the middle. The ratio of the width and length of the Flag shall ordinarily be two breadths by three lengths.

The significance of the colours is as follows: Saffron - Courage and sacrifice White - Truth and peace Green - Faith and chivalry Ratio - 3:2

Children are continually changing physically, mentally, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. They follow a general pattern of growth and development. Parents and teachers who are aware of common characteristics of different age-groups will be able to deal with children’s behavior more appropriately and teach them more effectively.

Some children may develop faster or slower than others their age. For example, a particular six-year-old may fit more closely the age characteristics of a five-year-old or a seven-year-old. Remember also that children may temporarily revert to younger behavior during emotional stress or tension.

Church lesson manuals have been prepared with children’s growth characteristics in mind. As you study and prepare each lesson, be aware of how each part of the lesson can help you meet the children’s needs.

1. They use physical descriptions of their self or material possessions to differentiate themselves from others – they may use descriptive words like ‘tall’, or ‘big’ or refer to the clothes they wear or the toys or objects they have. Their self-descriptions are in absolute terms – this means they do not see themselves in comparison with others. To give an example, instead of saying, “I am taller than Kiran”, the child will say, “I am tall.”

2. They describe themselves in terms of things they can do. For example, in terms of their play activities – “I can ride a cycle”; “I can make a house”; “I can count”. Thus, their self understanding contains active descriptions of themselves.

3. Their self descriptions are in concrete terms – i.e., they define themselves in terms of things they can do or what is visible to them – “I have a television.”

4. They often overestimate themselves. Thus, a child may say, “I am never scared” or “I know all the poems”, but may not remember them completely.

5. Young children are also unable to recognise that they can possess different attributes – that they can be ‘good’ and ‘bad’, ‘mean’ and ‘nice’ at different points in time.

People participate by taking an interest in the working of the government and by criticising it when required. In August 2005, when a particular government increased the money people had to pay for electricity, people expressed their disapproval very sharply. They took out rallies and also organised a signature campaign. The government tried to explain and defend its decision but finally listened to the people's opinion and withdrew the increase. The government had to change its decision because it is responsible to the people.

There are many ways in which people express their views and make governments understand what actions they should take. These include dharnas, rallies, strikes, signature campaigns etc. Things that are unfair and unjust are also brought forward. Newspapers, magazines and TV also play a role in discussing government issues and responsibilities

It finds that some contractors implementing the scheme may get into serious financial difficulty, and that no alternatives to the programme were considered before it was implemented.

The work programme has so far spent £63m terminating existing welfare-to-work contracts, the report discloses. Two former contractors have not yet agreed settlements.

A Truly Beautiful Mind by Albert Einstein is the story of Albert Einstein who was one of the greatest scientists in the world. The lesson sheds light on Einstein life and his works in the field of science and world politics.

Explanation:

  • Following his university studies, Einstein proved to be a intellectual  and a scientific genius. Though for a while he had been jobless and gave private tuition. He was eventually working as a a technical expert a patent office in Berne.
  • There, along with that work, he secretly developed his own ideas and published his popular research paper  the 'Special Relativity Theory,' according to which time and distance were not completely absolute. He formulated his hypothesis of the relation of mass and energy that developed into the world famous formula E = mc , , making him a popular physicist.
  • Upon publishing of his General Theory of Relativity, Einstein received universal recognition, which allowed him to calculate in advance the extent of the deflection of light from fixed stars as it passed through the gravitational field of the sun.
  • The theory has been described by the newspapers as 'a scientific revolution.' Einstein was given the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1921 for his contribution to scientific advancement. He was subsequently given a number of honors and has been invited by the world's different  nations. His mathematical genius was often praised in journals

  1. The solid crystals are formed when the isolated atoms are brought together. Various interactions occur between the neighboring atoms.
  2. At a particular interatomic spacing d, there is a proper balance between forces of attraction to form a crystal. In this process, the changes occur in the electron energy level configurations.
  3. In case of a single atom, there is a single energy for an electron orbit.
  4. However, when two atoms are brought close to each other, it leads to intermixing of electrons in the valence shell.
  5. As a result, the number of permissible energy levels is formed, which is called an energy band.
  6. Three bands are important from the conductivity point of view, which are,
  7. Valence band
  8. Conduction band
  9. Forbidden gap or band
  10. The simple energy band diagram, showing these bands is shown in the figure

  1. In the normal state, the electrons involved in the covalent bonds in the crystal occupy the valence band and the conduction band is empty. Hence the electrons in the outermost shell are called valence electrons and the outermost shell is called valence shell.
  2. At higher temperature, these electrons acquire energy and move to the conduction band as electron is not allowed to occupy any energy state in forbidden gap. These electrons are called free electrons.
  3. For any given type of material the forbidden energy gap may be large, small or nonexistent. The classification of materials as insulators, conductors and semiconductors is mainly dependent on the widths of the forbidden energy gap.

Tipitaka literally means three baskets to hold different types of texts. The main features of it are: The Vinaya Pitaka included rules and regulations for those who joined the Sangha or monastic order. The Sutta Pitaka included the teachings of the Buddha. The Abhidhamma Pitaka dealt with philosophical matters. Each pitaka comprised a number of texts. According to Buddhist philosophy the world is transient (anicca) and constantly changing. The world is soulless (anatta) as there is nothing permanent or eternal in it. Within this transient world, sorrow (dukkha) is intrinsic to human existence. It is by following the path of moderation between severe penance and self-indulgence, the human beings can rise above these worldly troubles. The Buddha regarded the social world as the creation of humans rather than of divine origin. Therefore, he advised kings and gahapatis to be humane and ethical.

Slavery in India was an established institution in ancient India by the start of the common era, or likely earlier. However, its study in ancient times is problematic and contested because it depends on the translations of terms such as dasa and dasyu. Slavery was banned in the Mauryan Empire.

Slavery in India escalated during the Muslim domination of northern India after the 11th-century after Muslim rulers re-introduced slavery to the Indian subcontinent. It became a predominant social institution with the enslavement of Hindus, along with the use of slaves in armies for conquest, a long-standing practice within Muslim kingdoms at the time. According to Muslim historians of the Delhi Sultanate and the Mughal Empire era, after the invasions of Hindu kingdoms Indians were taken as slaves, with many exported to Central Asia and West Asia. Many slaves from the Horn of Africa were also imported into the Indian subcontinent to serve in the households of the powerful or the Muslim armies of the Deccan Sultanates and the Mughal Empire

Formula for Simple Interest

Simple interest is calculated by multiplying the interest rate by the principal amount and the time period which is generally in years. The S.I. formula is given as:

Simple Interest (SI) = P × T × R ⁄ 100

After the calculation for S.I. is done, the principal has to be added to it to get the total amount that the borrower has to give or the lender will collect. This is called total amount and its formula is given as:

A = P + S.I.

Notations in S.I. Formula:

S.I. Simple Interest
P Principal Amount
A Total Amount
R Rate of Interest
T Time (in Years)

There are three types of root system, viz. tap root system, fibrous root system and adventitious root system.

  1. Tap Root System: This type of root system is mainly present in dicotyledonous plants. Direct elongation of the radicle results in formation of primary root. The primary root bears secondary, tertiary, etc. roots. The primary root; along with its branches; makes the tap root system, e.g. mustard, banyan, etc.
  2. Fibrous Root System: This type of root system is mainly present in monocotyledonous plants. The primary root is short lived after germination. This is replaced by a large number of roots and all of them emerge from the base of the stem. Such roots constitute the fibrous root system, e.g. wheat, paddy, grass, etc.
  3. Adventitious Roots: Sometimes, roots arise from some other plant parts (other than radicle). Such roots are called adventitious roots. Adventitious roots are used for various purposes; like vegetative propagation, mechanical support, etc.
