Reproduction is a biological process of formation of new offsprings from the pre-existing organism. Reproduction becomes a vital process without which species cannot survive for long It ensures continuity of species generation after generations as older individuals undergo senescence and ultimately they die.

Life span – • The period from birth to the natural death of an organism represents its life span. Life span of organisms varies from few days (Butterfly-1to 2 weeks) to thousands of years (Banyan tree).

Types of Reproduction:
Based on whether there is one or two organisms taking part in the process of reproduction

  • ASEXUAL REPRODUCTION
  • SEXUAL REPRODUCTION

DNA replication is the biological process in which two identical copies of DNA are produced from one original DNA molecule.
The steps involved in the process of DNA replication are as follows:

  1. The first step in DNA replication is to ‘unzip’ the double-helix structure of the DNA molecule.
  2. This is carried out by an enzyme called helicase which breaks the hydrogen bonds holding the complementary bases of DNA together (A with T, C with G).
  3. The separation of the two single strands of DNA creates a ‘Y’ shape called a replication ‘fork’. The two separated strands will act as templates for making the new strands of DNA.
  4. One of the strands is oriented in the 3’ to 5’ direction (towards the replication fork), this is the leading strand. The other strand is oriented in the 5’ to 3’ direction (away from the replication fork), this is the lagging strand. As a result of their different orientations, the two strands are replicated differently.

L = length of wires
Y = Young's modulus of wires
R1= r
R2=2r
As equal elomgation is produced,
∆l = elongation
F = YA∆l/l
f = YA'∆l/l

F/f = A/A'
F/f = $$\pi$$r²/$$\pi$$r² ×4
F:f = 4 : 1

it is based on Young's modulus concepts .

we know, Young's modulus = stress/strain
stress = F/A , strain = ∆L/L

so, Young's modulus, Y = FL/A∆L
so, F = YA∆L/L
hence, it is clear that tension in rope is directly proportional to area of cross section of rope.

area of cross section of rope , A = πd²/4

so,
we can write ,

so,

hence, maximum tension that may be given to a similar role of diameter 2cm is 2000N

Extinction of a particular animal or plant species occurs when there are no more individuals of that species alive anywhere in the world - the species has died out. This is a natural part of evolution. But sometimes extinctions happen at a much faster rate than usual.

The formation of a company is a lengthy process. For convenience the whole process of company formation may be divided into the following four stages:

Stage # 1. Promotion Stage:

Promotion is the first stage in the formation of a company. The term ‘Promotion’ refers to the aggregate of activities designed to bring into being an enterprise to operate a business. It presupposes the technical processing of a commercial proposition with reference to its potential profitability. The meaning of promotion and the steps to be taken in promoting a business are discussed in brief here.

Stage # 2. Incorporation or Registration Stage:

Incorporation or registration is the second stage in the formation of a company. It is the registration that brings a company into existence. A company is properly constituted only when it is duly registered under the Act and a Certificate of Incorporation has been obtained from the Registrar of Companies.

Stage # 3. Capital Subscription Stage:

A private company or a public company not having share capital can commence business immediately on its incorporation. As such ‘capital subscription stage’ and ‘commencement of business stage’ are relevant only in the case of a public company having a share capital. Such a company has to pass through these additional two stages before it can commence business.

Stage # 4. Commencement of Business Stage:

After getting the certificate of incorporation, a private company can start its business. A public company can start its business only after getting a’ certificate of commencement of business’.

The mitotic division called cleavage starts as the zygote moves through the isthmus of the oviduct towards the uterus and forms 2, 4, 8, 16 daughter cells called blastomeres. The embryo with 8 to 16 blastomeres is called a morula. The morula continues to divide and transforms into blastocyst as it moves further into the uterus. The blastomeres in the blastocyst are arranged into an outer layer caned trophoblast and an inner group of cells attached to trophoblast called the inner cell mass.

Bandwidth describes the maximum data transfer rate of a network or Internet connection. It measures how much data can be sent over a specific connection in a given amount of time. For example, a gigabit Ethernet connection has a bandwidth of 1,000 Mbps (125 megabytes per second). An Internet connection via cable modem may provide 25 Mbps of bandwidth.
